I was expecting more from this. It wasn't bad; it just wasn't all that great, either. I'll give it a couple more episodes to see if it develops into something.

It was OK. I didn't love it but I don't like / watch sitcoms in general so that might be a factor. I'll give it a couple more episodes before making a final decision.

I had heard the NPR Fresh Air interview with Kaling so my interest was piqued in seeing this, as boogieman03 had pointed out this wasn't LOL comedy, but more dramedy - I liked it and wow for a pilot the cast and guest stars were impressive - will give the show a chance.

watched it last night. It is too early to tell if it is a romantic comedy of the week.
However, I can't stand romantic comedies, but I liked this show. It poked fun at itself, she is brutally honest "there are not many options for a chubby 31yr old," the show moved quickly (which I liked), and I liked the non-pc aspect of the show "I need more patients with insurance.. ok, more white patients".
I'm in for another episode.

Well, I watched the whole thing. Humm... Not super impressed, but it did have a few moments. I haven't cancelled the season pass yet, I'll give it another shot. Not nearly as bad as several of the new shows this year, tho (wow, there are really some BAD shows this year).

Just watched this. It was absolutely terrible. Seemed like she was still playing Kelly Kapoor to me. Was hoping for some laughs, but there weren't any at all.

While some might disagree, I find Mindy Kaling undeniably cute and charming. Some of her jokes fall flat, but overall she seems to be handling her own show quite well. For those that complain she comes across as Kelly Kapoor in a different setting, maybe that's because both this character and that are basically variations on herself.
