Re: Go On -- Tuesdays (NBC)

Once the writers figured out that the therapy group worked better than the office, the show found it's stride.

I hope Matthew Perry gets another show that last more than one season. I liked Studio 60 and Mr. Sunshine like others here.

What a fucking idiot....Big News, Congratulations your show getting cancelled.

Did no one in the Kings production truck do a Google search if you had no fucking clue what was going on with him. It would have been plastered on all the results.

They made that guy look like an idiot.

I want to be so well off that I celebrate when I'm fired so I can watch more of my beloved hockey games.

Same here. Three well made programs that couldn't find an audience.

Reminds me of Paul Reiser's appearance on Leno to promote the recently canceled Paul Reiser Show.

If only Paul Reisers show was as funny as his Leno appearance.

It's a shame, Go On was very solid. Certainly better than this season of Community.

I was thinking the same thing when I rewatched it.

Dammit. I just found out about this. It was my favorite sitcom of this season. Now I only have 3 sitcoms to watch - Community, New Girl, and Big Bang Theory.

I don't get it - the writing was great, Matthew Perry has awesome comedic timing, and the rest of the cast had that elusive chemistry that few shows have. One of the few shows that made me laugh out loud even when I was watching by myself. What does it take??

I see you also watch New Girl, a show that came on at the same time as Go On for most of the season. Which show, if any, did you watch live?

More people chose New Girl.

In the end, a show with someone like Perry is held to a higher standard. Perry comes at a higher price tag than say Sean Hayes or Mike O'Malley.

The other part is that NBC went with 4 hours of comedy last season. This season, they're back down to 2, adding a third at midseason. I'm guessing it came down to Go On or Community, and Sony probably made NBC a good deal to get Community another season.

I never understood why networks "compete" like that. Let's put our "slightly quirky" comedies on all at the exact same time - Let us place New Girl, Happy Endings and Go On at the exact same time, just because they're all after the same audience doesn't mean shit.

It's the same reason all the restaurants offer free kids meals on Tuesday night with everyone else. They want your adult meal purchases instead of their competitor.

If you're going to watch a "slightly quirky" comedy live, they want to make sure it's their "slightly quirky" comedy you're watching.

I liked Go On, but we will have to agree to disagree. For me, this show was a poor man's Community at best.

FWIW, Season 4 of Community was also a poor man's Community.

That depends on which season of Community you're talking about. And anyhow, I think talking about Go On and Community is like talking apples and oranges. The two shows are not similar at all in my opinion.

Regardless, Go On was a great show and I thought it at least deserved a second season. There's so few quality sitcoms on nowadays.

None, I'm a cable cutter. I watch everything through Hulu Plus, Netflix, or iTunes. The only things I watch live are a few sports and a few cable shows, which I watch at my neighbors'.

I'm a rabid Community fan, but the 4th season didn't live up to its previous standards. If the choice really came down to these two, I would have rather NBC picked Go On. Really.
