Re: The Walking Dead -- "When the Dead Come Knocking" -- 11/25/12
I'm paraphrasing someone's opinion from Talking Dead a little, but you could possibly be very wrong:
Team Prison, tho small in numbers, has gradually become a very efficient killing machine, doing things like clearing the prison that other groups could never handle. Whereas Team Woodbury may be a lot lamer than we think. The gal who was supposed to teach Andrea didn't know squat compared to her. The scientist had never seen a walker turn, and was hopelessly naive about it. How many people there have ever fought off zombies in huge numbers? Or even killed a single zombie? The townsfolk are useless, and the Gov's little security force has been dropping like flies before Team Prison even gets there.

the lack of photos and gifs from this episode is quite unacceptable, tbh.

prior to this episode I really only cared about Daryll. Now I care about Glenn and Carol (never saw THAT one coming).

I like Glenn a helluva lot more than I ever did before. Before, he was as expendable as, say, T-Dog (and not because T-Dog was black, just because T-Dog was uninteresting). After his torture at the hands of Merle, I like him better than I do Rick at the moment. Not that Rick did anything wrong, but my heart now goes to Glenn. That kind of bravery is a rare thing. He didn't even flinch when that knife was brought under his nose for his nose to be cut off and left to lie on the floor for rat food. That kind of bravery can't be taught.

Great job by the writers this half season.
BTW, someone mentioned this earlier, but the scene where Daryll shows Rick Carol had some incredible acting. Alot of people here talk about Rick and how he's unstable now but that was needed to show his humanity.
Also, it's nice to see that Glenn is now a bad ass. I let out an audible "Fuck Yeah" when he head butted Merle. You can atribute that to Rick forming his team into one hell of a survival outfit. No way the Glenn from season 1 shows that much testicular fortitude. Same with Andrea and the scene a couple of episodes back when she was on the security wall/gate.

Same here though I've always liked Rick. Now, with this season you can add Glenn, Carol, Carl (!?!?!), and maybe lil Ass Kicker (Judith) to my likeable list but Maggie, hot body and all, is a blabber mouth and I hope she's a goner.

Hate to say it, but I would have folded like a house of cards if I were in Glenn's place with Merle. Then again, I've never been put to the test, so I can't really put myself down like that.

Yeah, I'm not sure what Glenn or Maggie could have done in that situation. Let the other one die? I think there is a limit to what you can sacrifice, and it's not like Rick and the gang are defenseless either. Plus, I doubt either of them knew that Woodbury is as big as it is with as many "soldiers" as they have.

At this point it's kind of surprising any of them have any clothes that still fit or are still wearable. Hell, Andrea's been wearing the same get-up for 3 seasons, which is about 2 years in terms of the show, right?

Conceivably, yes, but they're also in densely populated cities, which are full of walkers. No way in hell they're going back to Atlanta for some clothes. And I bet they didn't pack bags before the left, and there's been no laundry being done, either.
Where are they getting the water in the prison? You'd think the pump would be run on electricity, but that seems to be out for the most part, too.
(these things really break down under too much pressure, don't they?)

I love that they've finally...slowly...but finally....gave Glenn some Balls. I mean shit, he even got the White girl.
Hollywood has two versions of Asian Men...Ubber badasses (I guess Michone has taken that role here) or Wimp. There's almost no in between. Glenn is a good character who is finally being allowed to grow up.

If they went through a "cold winter," I failed to see anybody suffer or die from harsh winter elements - like freezing to death. If all Carol needed was a scarf to settle down to winter, then GA must be a mild winter state.
