Thanks for the entertainment, Larry. One of the giants of television and one of the greatest characters ever.

I never watched a lot of I Dream of Jeannie or Dallas, but he was a huge Star. Just another passing that tells me I'm getting older.

Larry was far and away the best part of the new DALLAS reboot. One wonders if the show will (or should) continue without him. Then again, the original DALLAS lost Jim Davis and used his passing as a springboard for some great storytelling.
Regardless, his talent is going to be missed (everyone will remember DALLAS and I DREAM OF JEANNIE, but he was equally fantastic in a short-lived series called ORLEANS as well as a role in PRIMARY COLORS).

With actor Larry Hagman’s passing on Friday, TNT’s newly revived version of Dallas is planning some adjustments to its second season.
Hagman had continued working on the show even after his announcement in October that he was diagnosed with cancer. In fact, he was scheduled to appear on set this week. Sources say he completed filming “a number of episodes” and will appear in season two of the series, though it’s unclear if the actor had a reduced work schedule compared to season one to accommodate his illness.
His passing will also be incorporated into the show. Sources say the show’s writers and producers plan to start working on a way to give the character “the proper sendoff that he deserves.” Dallas season two, which will have 15 episodes, is currently scheduled to premiere on Jan. 28, which should give the production time to make creative adjustments.

In a weird way, I'm glad they had JR outright tell Bobby that he loved him. It'll make JR's passing bitter-sweet.

A fitting tribute to a great character like that would be to kill him off with a mystery murderer .

Larry Hagman was a true legend. The few episodes preceding JR being shot was one of the best early multiepisode arcs in television.
Dallas 2.0 could just do what Dallas 1.0 did when Jim Davis (Jock)- string it out for at least a year and then make a plot line about who will inherit the patriarch's fortune.

Or they could open S16 explaining that S15 was just a dream and JR really did off himself when he was arguing with the devil.

Patrick Duffy issued a statement Sunday on the death of his longtime co-star and friend Larry Hagman. The two shared the screen as rival Ewing brothers for 14 seasons on the original Dallas, then reunited last year for a new version of the Texas melodrama on cable network TNT.
Duffy said: “Friday I lost one of the greatest friends ever to grace my life. The loneliness is only what is difficult, as Larry’s peace and comfort is always what is important to me, now as when he was here. He was a fighter in the gentlest way, against his obstacles and for his friends. I wear his friendship with honor.”

Looking over his Wikipedia entry, I had no idea Broadway legend Mary Martin was his mom. Some serious bloodlines there.

According to some of the media reports, including Deadline.com and ET, Hagman filmed 6 of the 15 episodes for season 2.
