Arrow -- "Lone Gunmen" -- 10/24/12

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Oliver (Stephen Amell) is surprised when someone shoots and kills one of his targets. As his plan is to bring people to justice vs. outright killing them, Oliver doesn't appreciate the help and searches for the gunman. He soon learns that the man, Deadshot (guest star Michael Rowe), is taking out businessmen who are scheduled to bid at an auction on an energy company and Walter (Colin Salmon) is one of the bidders. Realizing he can't protect his family and stop Deadshot at the same time, Oliver enlists Detective Lance's (Paul Blackthorne) help, but his plan has dire consequences. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Tommy (Colin Donnell) get caught in an awkward situation with Oliver. Willa Holland, David Ramsey and Susanna Thompson also star. Guy Bee directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim & Andrew Kreisberg (103).

Another good one tonight. The show isn't quite gripping me the way say Heroes(in the 1st season) did but its enjoyable to watch, unlike The Cape where I kinda felt I was forcing myself to tune in each week.

Deadshot's eye thing looked ridiculous. So was he dead? If so, that was sort of stupid.

It's good that we finally got the reveal to Diggle. Oliver repeatedly ditching him was getting old.

so Arrow = Batman, and Diggle = Lucious Fox.

this show continues to impress me.

Good episode.

The flashback work really well and I enjoy the development of Oliver's character and learning more of his backstory. I wonder who the mystery/arrow man is.

Deadshot was interesting. The poisonous bullets were cool. Too bad he was a one and done villain. Yeah the thing over his eye was kind of cheesey.

I agree it's good that Diggle is now in the mix and Oliver won't have to keep ditching him.

I am apparently 12 years old and laugh whenever i hear the name "Diggle".

Not knowing the background on deadshot, i thought the wrist machine gun was a little silly.

Nice to see Diana have the ability to kick some ass.

I think Diggle's (heh) sister in law was on Hellcats?

At the end I thought Ollie had put him back at the scene of the incident. Seems odd to bring him in so soon, but I'll go with it.

Hopefully we get a bit more time with the flashbacks. Looks like he landed on the Last Resort island, or a hit team was sent to follow up with the boat.

Live action, it seems a bit ridiculous that a guy with a bow and arrow can kill DEADSHOT, the guy who never misses with bullets.

Equally ridiculous was *drinking* some potion to counteract some poison that has been introduced into the bloodstream.

However, nothing was as ridiculous as that hot tech chick. How many hot tech chicks are there in this world?????

I dont think hes dead. Oliver had to go tend to Diggle before he could really check his status. Plus he got shot in the eye. Which doesn't really make sense (everyone else hes killed has gotten shot in the chest) unless they want to bring his character back with a serious grudge against Oliver for costing him the eye that he aims with.

Re: Arrow -- "Lone Gunmen" -- 10/24/12

Other than a call out to the character from the comics, what purpose did Deadshot's eye piece have? He wasn't wearing it when he killed the first guy. Might as well just put him in his full costume, especially since they show Slade's mask in the first episode. Maybe Deadshot isn't dead and will come back in costume. Funny how he gets an arrow to the eye with what amounts to Queen's blind fire. Also, you'd expect Ollie to pick up his arrows at some point. I'm not saying that he's in Walking Dead Daryl territory, but then the cops don't seem to be taking them to forensics either and there will be a shit ton of arrows all over the city. At least with Spider-man, I always assumed his webbing eventually dissolves.

Nitpicks aside, I like the show so far. Liked how they're adapting some of Green Arrow's mythos. I expect to see Shado at some point since Ollie has her tattoo on his left shoulder. And changing Roy Harper to his sister Thea, calling her Speedy and her drug/alcohol abuse will be interesting as well. Just not thrilled with Amell's acting.

I'm not finding the show to engaging.
Hate the best friend and Katie Cassidy's character.
The Arrow has no allies and is just kind've a bore.
