I almost thought they were gonna give us a nude scene from Deb there at the beginning. Oh well, maybe Yvonne later on in the season. So, is Ray Stevenson's character gay or was that fatherly love?

He's pretty obviously gay. That much can be extrapolated from the fact that the other mobsters at the club don't seem to understand just why Stevenson's character is so gung-ho about avenging this guy, who was apparently just a "loose cannon". They'd obviously understand if it was the dude's son.
It's amazing how many clearly established plot points tend to go over viewers' heads on these shows. But hey, I'm still scratching my head at my idiot friends who didn't get that Edward James Olmos' character last season was already dead/Travis' dark passenger.

Hey, I thought that he was his son too. I guess that would make sense though...wasn't he telling Dexter he wasn't interested in what most men are at the strip club?

What makes it worse is that Colin Hanks said that he didn't know that character was dead until the actual episode where it was revealed.

I was hoping that Dexter was going to cremate the Minotaur Killer alive.

I really like that Dexter can now state audibly with Deb a lot of what used to be only internal monologue. It really allows Hall some extra room to act and add even more depth to the character. Normally he could only drop his facade in very limited situations such as when someone was on the table or to his imagined father - who we see less and less of now that Deb is "in the circle."

Could be his brother too. I was sort of hoping the maze guy would stick around.

The season has been staying strong. I'm still liking what they're doing with the Deb and Dexter angle and the fact that she called him out on being responsible for Rita's death and being concerned over the safety of Harrison. I also was really thinking for a minute there that Dexter was going to put Speltzer in alive. Regardless that has to rank up there as one of his most memorable kills. I was a bit surprised that Dexter got rid of the slides that way but I kind of figured at some point he would get rid of them. I felt pretty bad for the bartender, Alex as he really didn't deserve what he got but he was in a position where he either was going to do it himself or the mobsters were going to kill him.

This season has been amazing so far, but not because of the plots which so far are just ok. The awesomeness of this season has come completely from this new Deb/Dexter dynamic. The internal conflict with Deb is fascinating to watch. She's also a mirror for us the viewers. At the end of the episode when she's processing her feelings about Spelzer being killed by Dexter, we feel what she's feeling. On the one hand he was murdered, and yet, in spite of justice being served without due process, she's happy it happened. It was a damn convincing argument in favor of Dexter's methods.

Dexter and Speltzer little face off was great. Too bad they didn't keep him around a little longer. He was definitely a formidable opponent.
I'm shocked that Dexter didn't cremate Speltzer alive. I guess Dex isn't that hardcore of a serial killer.
As for Viktor and Isaac's relationship. He did hide the photo of them together in the back of that frame. So Isaac must be hiding the fact that they were lovers.
Really strong 4 episodes so far. I guess we are now settling in with Isaac as the big baddie this season.

Dexter wants to feel the kill himself, so he needed to deliver the blow. Although I was kind of expecting him to put Speltzer in alive as well.
And it kind of gave off some Six Feet Under vibes.

Of course the first thought is that they are lovers. Or why would they hide that they are father/son, brothers, or something like that? Or maybe Dexter writers know more about Ukranians... but for most americans they should be gay.

I was getting those vibes when he was coming out to sister more about killing. Seemed like he was channeling that character a bit.

So Dexter can access/operate a crematorium without fear of discovery? I know Minotaur-man worked at the cemetery but really - that seems a bit of a stretch.
Between this and the airport kill I'm really rolling my eyeballs over here...
