Re: Buffy or Battlestar Galactica
There is no show that pisses me off more than Battlestar Galactica. It is a massive waste of time and I can't discourage one enough from watching that piece of crap. The show steadily goes down hill and the final season is Ronald Moore raising two middle fingers at his audience. They had no plan while writing the show and it was obvious. What an absolute turd.

I really only watched it live, so I don't know how I'll feel when I go back for a rewatch, but I need to stick up for late-era BSG. The last two seasons were my favorite period of the series.

Man, I love BSG, easily one of my favorite shows of all time, certainly in my top three. I don't get the complaints at all, that show hooked me from the beginning and I couldn't watch it fast enough. I've watched it about five times completely now, never gets old for me...with the exception of the Black Market episode, talk about an episode I do not give a fuck about.

I love Battlestar but I'd say go for Buffy/Angel - so damn good. Battlestar has amazing acting and lots of great intense moments, but it fizzles in the end.

Between the two I'd say Battlestar Galactica, but I definitely agree with others who've recommended Babylon 5 and/or Farscape and will add Stargate SG-1/Atlantis into the mix as well. -kd5-

Buffy. I might had picked BSG if it had included a musical episode. I can see those cylons doing a nifty song and dance number such as in the Kia commercial.

BSG, no contest. Not only is it one of the greatest shows of all time, but the music is fucking spectacular; some of the best music ever composed for television.
Coincidentally, some of the worst BSG episodes are written by Jane Espenson from Buffy.

Oh God yes! I have all the soundtracks and have listened to them countless times. BSG, TZ, and DS9 are my favorite shows of all time. And the later seasons are not as bad as people make them out to be. Buffy is a great show too, it could've ended after season five though. Angel is probably overall a better show.

Apples and oranges here. You really can't compare the two. They are obviously totally different types of shows. Battlestar or Bab 5? Buffy or Supernatural? May be better comparisons off the top of my head.

Buffy -- Season 1 is kind of a monster of the week with some surprising twists.
S2 - is IMO the best serial season of all time. (Except maybe S3 and S4 of Breaking Bad).
Battlestar was good, but was a little dark and for some reason the twists were not OMG moments.
