To my knowledge it is not available in HD, though that may change later since it is possible they rushed out the SD version to appease the Nickelodeon crowd.

On another aside, not sure if it has been mentioned already but TCM in HD is supposed to be coming next week.

Disney Junior was added today.

I've got a 4 year old and a 1 year old so I'm pretty down with the Disney Channel. They announced a dedicated Disney Junior channel a long time ago, about 2 years ago. They ran promos on the existing disney channel about it and everything. Then after a while I heard nothing. Now, out of the blue the channel pops up. I can't help but think Disney was waiting for an oportunity like this to come along.

That's what I got. Then got transferred to ST group, but got disconnected after being on hold for 10 minutes. I'll try again later to get some sort of discount for ST.

That's what I got $$ wise, I already have starz & showtime. Then got transferred to ST group, but got disconnected after being on hold for 10 minutes. I'll try again later to get some sort of discount for ST.

Just hope we can get most of the Viacom shows on Demand to catch up if they settle this within the next 2 weeks.

Of course none of those On Demand shows will be in HD.

Almost all the viacom show's I watch I found out can be viewed on hulu+. And there are a couple of 2-month free coupons floating around if you google for them.

That's what I did to aid the period until they is resolved. The only show I've gone looking for and not found is "Awkward".

Of course what DTV has isn't really "On Demand."

TCM in HD isn't really that great. It's an upconvert channel. I mean it might be a little better than the SD channel, but it's not anything to get too thrilled about.

So get this. I called and complained. I got the full package so channels weren't gonna do it for me because I have them all. So I told them I was upset because I have little ones that have been crying and complaining about not having Nick.

The first person told me she could only give me $15 but was gonna transfer me to someone that could help.

Next person gets the same story and this is what I got....

For the Next 3 months I get $30 of my bill. Also after those 3 months I get an additional 3 months with $25 off. $165 not bad for a 5 min call.

I guess I didn't complain hard enough. All I got was $5 off for two months and free Starz/Encore for 6 months. Doh!

I'm in my first year so I still have everything. Got $43 off for 3 months, then $30 off the next 3 months. Not too bad.

If nothing else, it means not watching a widescreen film with bars on the sides. I would think that would look quite a bit better than the SD channel.

http://www.deadline.com/2012/07/viac...-with-directv/

Ratings for all the Viacom networks are down during this dispute. Overall they are down 27%

Nick at Nite is down 48%, Nickelodeon is down 45%

Comedy Central is only down 5.5%

Directv posted an update today. Apparently the negotiations have hit a stalemate. The sticking point right now is that Viacom wants Directv to buy The EPIX channel, which they own. The extra cost according to Directv is more than a half a billion dollars. Directv doesn't want it and knows the customers don't want it.

I called back today and got $20 off per month for the next year, on top of the $10 off for the next two months.

Re: DirecTV to drop 26 Viacom Channels at 7/10 Midnight

BTW, most of these freebies aren't necessarily related to the Viacom dispute, even if they say otherwise and even if that is the reason you called. You probably could have gotten money off anyways just by asking. When these credits expire, call the retention department again and ask for more. You'll probably get them.

called back... I initially was offered $5/mos for 3 months and 3 mos of Showtime. Now I have $10/mos for 6 months, 3 mos of Showtime and 6 mos of Starz. Not too bad for blocked channels I don't really give a shit about. They weren't biting on majorjoe's $20/mos for a year.
