Re: Big Brother 14 season thread
What an odd edit. Obviously, they are going out of their way to give Dan the villain edit, and Frank the duped good guy edit. Neither is entirely accurate. In spite of the "ride or die" Frank in the DR tonight, he had no real interest in taking Dan to the final 2 either.
As for Dan's three final twos...that wasn't accurately portrayed either. The Frank one is fake. The new one with Ian is a probably a backup. The real one is with Danielle, not that we saw anything to indicate that tonight.
What's missing from this show...well, Dan and Danielle used his winning the veto to set themselves up. Working a two person game on the houseguests, they were able to parlay this into a definite final 3 alliance with Shane, and a probable final 3 alliance with Jenn (that one was not completely set at the time of the veto ceremony so other house events may or may not have wrecked it).
The best part is how they did it. All of the other houseguests are still convinced there is real tension between Dan and Danielle so they use the middle person as the go between. I.E., Dan asks Shane if they're in a good spot to make a final three with Danielle. Shane is agreeable to the idea, so Dan asks him to try to convince Danielle. Danielle agrees but reverifies that the final 3 alliance is good, but the final two is really her and Shane, b/c that's who she really trusts.
The Jenn agreement was still in the planning stages at the time of veto ceremony, but after the veto competition Danielle worked her magic (and even though she's hated by a lot of live feed watchers, she does have some magic!), and convinced Jenn that Frank had to go, and Jenn was lying to Frank about it to cover that information.
Dan and Danielle's game takes a lot of trust, b/c they have to talk bad about each other some to reassure the middle person as well as the other three houseguests.
That having been said, three days is a lot of time, and Frank has had 9 lives in this game. He's not gone yet.

Re: Big Brother 14 season thread
Whether he leaves next week or not that was a beautiful game play tonight by Dan. Ian is a BB freak, and he knows Dan nominated Memphis twice to cover the alliance. They should be fine. He protected both Shane and Jenn, after Jenn calms down (she probably wanted Shane up and out...why Dan didn't do it) they should be both be fine.
And Dan has Danielle locked in so she'll be fine. In fact, they can use this to make their final three alliances (with both Shane and Jenn) stronger b/c it makes it look like Dan/Danielle still have some tension.
By the way, if Ian hadn't won veto he would have followed Frank out the door. So, kudos to Ian for saving himself even though he didn't know for sure that he needed to. Ian is a serious, serious threat to win this game b/c he's a great backyard (competition) player.
Hated all the Frank is loyal BS that Big Brother was playing tonight. Frank wasn't loyal to Dan. He ratted out Dan to Danielle on Tuesday morning (didn't do any good b/c he didn't have any information Danielle didn't already have from when Dan told her), and he was planning on cutting Dan as soon as he could. Frank tried to have an alliance with everyone in the house, and his game play was clumsy and bad. He was a horrible inside (social) player, and he earned his eviction. He had absolutely no read on any of the houseguests; his morning feed talks were famous for how clueless he truly was to house dynamics. The reason is simple; Frank thought a whole lot of himself and didn't pay attention to any social cues about how he was being perceived.

Houseguests don't have access to the live feeds, and most of the remaining houseguests are far from stupid. For instance, Ian is a Big Brother savant. I prefer to give credit to the terrific game play that Dan and Danielle are running.

If they let Jessie win one maybe he'll go away.

Ian being booksmart and having a photographic memory of things like who won a food comp in season 3 and Frank being an athletic comp beast doesn't change the fact that on a social level they might as well be Adam from last season or Zach from Evil Dicks season because they are mush brains who consistently make stupid decisions all game and have essentially done whatever one of the vets have pushed them into doing.

US Open is on CBS this afternoon so this evening's recording will probably have to be padded for those of us not on the west coast.
I already looked ahead for next week, and for the first time CBS is acknowledging that they run behind on NFL doubleheader days and BB is set to record starting from 8:30/7:30.

The NFL also pushed back the 4:15 game start time to 4:25 this year because so many of those games ran into each other.

Dan is such a snake, and as someone who's been actively rooting against him it's been frustrating to see everyone fall for it over and over again and then go back for more after he screws them over.

Re: Big Brother 14 season thread
Only Dan could pull a stunt like this (a) without winning POV, (b) blindsiding three of the F4 HG's and (c) guaranteeing himself F2 (Dani will get over it after a few days, Ian will take Dan to F2 just so he can spend a few more minutes with him inside the F2 house). Poor Shane, even his exit interview with Julie Chen was pre-empted for a few minutes as Dan BS'ed Dani and the poured a can of extra-strength Dan Mist into her mouth.
Shoot, the show didn't even start HOH Endurace live because the shit Dan pulled was just so off-the-charts. And I didn't even notice until long after the live show ended.
Cannot be said enough times...

Re: Big Brother 14 season thread
All season long Shane has been volunteering to go up on the block as a pawn, and all season long Britney was telling him how stupid that was and putting a stop to it. A couple weeks ago Danielle won the battle over Britney for Shane's loyalty so there wasn't anyone to stop his idiocy this week. He's a good guy. I feel a little sorry for him, but it really is his own fault for not making Danielle keep him off the block.
Most of this happened off feeds so we don't totally know anything beyond the show edit on how Dan convinced Danielle to do this. She just blew a guaranteed $50,000 by leaving nominations the same. I don't know how she didn't see this coming.
As a Dan fan, this was almost too dirty. I feel a little bad that he felt the need to resort to this. This is some seriously shady play, but Shane would have tough to beat in the comps and he just guaranteed himself $50,000.
Best part...Ian's reaction. Dan did tell him not to campaign last night.

I don't see how it's possible, but it looked like Danielle may have been considering Dan's explanation that he was doing this all for her. That evicting Shane was just so SHE would win. Just crazy...

Oh and what a douchebag move with the "Daddy's home" when he got to the jury house.

She's bought every other line of b.s. he's fed her so far, so why not that too? He could send her packing and tell her it's because he knows how much she'll love the jury house, and she'd walk out the door trusting his decision was for the best.
