I hope the ball kicker dude steam rolls everyone with the vote. I'd love to see that guy win it all.

Wonder how that mind reader guy did that last night? My guess:

1) he switched the paper that Sharon folded up, and was able to read it when he turned away or looked down.

2) They never show her opening up the paper to reveal to the audience that is what she wrote down, so maybe he quickly grabbed the "decoy" paper at the end of the trick to avoid her opening it up with nothing on the inside.

Havent watched all of Wednesdays episode but was able to watch the others last night. I too was a bit surprised at how many of the singers blew it. I was wondering if the country singer who apparently lied about his Army service would show up. Somehow I don't think his voice is what sent him home...

The illusionist with the cardboard box trick was unbelievably bad. Wow.

That was actually taped before the truth about him came out.

Okay, Sharon and Howie are on crack to allow Barry to proceed to N.Y. Are they D.E.A.F.??? Makes me feel really bad for the many more deserving acts.

Which one was Barry?

No doubt. Either it was a PR stunt by NBC or he just wanted to go home.

Ok I figured out Barry, what a joke.

Anyway as for the cardboard box guy
, why kind of pr would they need/get from that?

He knew he was going home and NBC gave him gas money to look like an idiot?

Sorry. I guess PR was not the proper term in hindsight. I meant the cardboard guy was just a stunt to get the viewing audience to get a chuckle.

My bad for the wrong use of 'PR'.

Okay this has been my first season watching and I've enjoyed it quite a bit thus far. I really like how they are getting backstage reactions from their peers/rivals. I love how complimentary everyone has been of everyone else... until they get to the black rapper. i.e. the first person to talk shit about someone else in the competition. Way to play to a stereotype dickhead.

I think the judges nailed most of it so far. They let a few stinkers by, but they won't be final contenders. Sucks for more deserving acts, but what can you do.

While not the flashiest guy in the competition, I'm still scratching my head at the mind reader, especially after Sharon confessed she made up a name.

isn't that all the more impressive that he's got some way of figuring it out?

Really disappointed the Goth Opera Guy went home...especially after Barry made it through. I was looking forward to his journey.

Re: America's Got Talent - Stern Edition
'eh, opera-goth has the talent but not the perfection having "supposedly" never sung before anyone before. It showed. He needs the dedication to hone his talent and then try and make a go of it. It's like the impressionist comedian that bombed. You don't hone your craft on a talent show, you bring your A game to win.

Gotta say, having these live and having Stern unedited makes this show infinitely better. He was letting the insults fly, especially against the shovel instrument guy. I was laughing my ass off. I get why they break up and do 1 act from each category per show, but I can also see how that may be fatiguing, since towards the end, you are like "another dance crew?"

Re: America's Got Talent - Stern Edition
Last nights show was great, Stern did a great job tearing apart that 6 year old dancer so adults could understand what he was saying and she couldn't.

No comments on the sound problem last night? Wow was that ever terrible. Worst I've heard on a prime time network show. And it lasted the entire broadcast. The sound volume and level dropped at least 50% during any of the pre-recorded segments. And during the live segments, the audience was louder than the acts and judges. WTF happened??

Sounded fine on my set.

I cannot wait for Barry to get ripped a new A-hole tonight by that "no bullshit" N.Y crowd.

Hey, whatever happened to the bit where Howard and Sharon perform "surgery" on Howie? Howard talked about it on his show and they showed it in the previews for the auditions. I don't remember seeing it. Or did I just miss it somehow?

Re: America's Got Talent - Stern Edition
they showed it in the 30 minute "preshow" before the 1st live episode. howie was laying on a couch and howard had tweezers. was pretty boring, honestly.

I went down to the live taping on Monday - It was a great show, lots of fun.

We were yelling out tons of stuff. When I got home we watched the show on DVR. After that magic act did singing in the rain it got quiet and you can hear me yell out "YOU SUCK!"

We got good tickets - we were 5 rows from the stage. Fat ass high pitch, and medicated pete was in the balcony directly to my left. Those 2 clowns were wandering around outside before the event started.

The place is really nice inside, parking was easy to get to, and it was easy to find.
