America's Got Talent - Stern Edition

Astonished Lightwire didn't go through. That was one of my favorite acts (despite the chubby guy, who yes, looks like a creepy weirdo).
I also have trouble believing Howard spends a lot of time sitting in the park staring at painters.

So do the 2 acts with the most votes automatically go through? or can the producers decide who they want to pit against each other for the judges to decide?
The tears worked for the untouchables, but the mariachi band kid is out (finally)

i think it's the 3rd place and 4th place finishers for who the judge decides to go through.

Re: America's Got Talent - Stern Edition
So do the judges have any further say in anything? Will it just be the remaining six acts performing and then America votes and the highest vote getter wins?
I'm hoping that the Untouchables or the dog act win so that Howard won't be able to crow about AGT finding some superstar act...not that the others will set the world on fire.

Lightwire got screwed.
Garibaldi's Statue of Liberty performance was unimpressive. It wasn't a very complicated piece, looked sloppy (and not in a good way), and there were too many dancers distracting from the performance of the painting.
I was really surprised that Howard let them through over Lightwire, who he has given nothing but praise.

the problem with Lightwire is that it's just variations of the same act. oooh, they added a cat with swords? i think what they do is impressive, but there just isn't much variation.

They were pretty much a weaker version of iLuminate from last season (who I think should have won hands down). In fact it drove me nuts as they went on and on about how original Lightwire was, especially considering two of the three judges were on the show last year watching iLuminate. But I still enjoyed them more than the dancing dogs.

Finally got to see the whole episode. Man the first hour was a drag. Not one impressive act. I was a big Sebastian fan, but it was clear this was as far as he deserved. Things didn't pick up until Hockenberry came on. He was amazing, and put on an excellent take of Imagine. He should have moved on over the stupid dogs.
I'll take back what I said about Untouchables. That performance was damn impressive, and probably worthy of moving on. However if they win(hopefully not), are a dozen plus families going to uproot and move to Vegas for their kids? Olate dogs is just as silly as the bird guy. It's a novelty act destined for state fairs, not Vegas. Pretty fucked up they've even made it this far.
Lightwire.... hmm, I'm not seeing the attraction. It was kinda cool weeks ago but as Deftones said, they're limited in what they can do. There wasn't any growth from the first time they were on.
That leaves Garibaldi. I loved that they tried more with multiple "puzzle pieces" but with the limited amount of time it really led to a sloppy paint job. With that said, I think they whole show should come down to him versus William Close.

fwiw, nobody is guaranteed a headlining act. they are only guaranteed the $1 million (paid out in 40 years). i think the headlining vegas act is reserved for something really, really good.

Re: America's Got Talent - Stern Edition
From the way Nick worded it last night it sounded like it's a few of the top acts that will be in Vegas. It sounded like an "AGT All Stars" type thing where it could be 4-5 acts as one show.
Plus it's not like a lot of these acts could pull together a 2 hour show so soon.

And hey rocked it as the first act! So glad they went back to having a well known rock song playing while they painted. I honestly don't think he'll take the competition, but I would give it to him if I had my choice.

The Untouchables are just a bunch of kids running around.

So glad this stupid sand guy is bombing horribly.Oh, and yeah, those kids are annoying, and they aren't really that good at dancing, they just do a good job at looking busy.

If the giant harp guy has to have a singer, he doesnt, couldn't they at least give him a good one.

Re: America's Got Talent - Stern Edition
The giant harp guy would of taken it tonight if he performed something completely different than what he's been doing... unfortunately it sounded like everything else he's done. Granted... that's been nothing short of awesome.
I really think Tom Cotter is going to take it tomorrow. The dude just nails it time and time again.
