SVU got picked up for a 14th season because Mariska re-signed recently and NBC wants to continue doing business with Dick Wolf. His new Pilot "Chicago Fire" got picked up to series yesterday....It stars Jesse Spencer from House.

It's a bitter sweet announcement for Community. 13 episodes are definitely better than 0, but that means that as of today, we're only getting 16 more episodes and then it's done.

Has it been confirmed it's a final season? Or are we all just assuming it'll be done after the 13?

However, the chances of it getting a "Back 9" order are slim considering it never gets more than 3-3.5M viewers a week and is always in the low 1's in the 18-49 demographic.

Sure enough, before upfronts even started, Univision signed a huge deal with Starcom.
Poor NBC.

I hope they cancel Celebrity Apprentice so they can tell Donald Trump "You're fired," and send him off in a taxi.

I used to watch Parenthood but then I kept hearing rumors that it was going to be cancelled so I stopped. Hopefully I can catch up, I did really like it.
Glad to see LO SVU get another season.

Any chance that Harry's Law makes it back? It's easily my favorite NBC show. It's so much better this year than last. The cases have been very good and shockingly, DEK seems to be taking a much more libertarian viewpoint towards the law.

Nope, but considering that the show doesn't do gangbusters with ratings, I can't imagine it will get renewed. Television shows that move to syndication sometimes get a boost from people who discover it in syndication and then go on to watch new episodes. But Comedy Central isn't going to start airing Community until next year, too late to do it any good ratings wise.

Katims also has a new medical show called 'County', with Jason Ritter that already guarantees my viewing.

out of all the comedies, 30 Rock, The Office, P&R, and Community, I would have sworn P&R was the biggest shoe-in to return.... yet, here we patiently wait.

I'd like to see them pick up a few for 13 episodes and close out stories - more of a BBC approach. I hey just dump stuff they'll be in a world of hurt, especially if new shows flop.

Re: NBC renewal announcements 2012-13
From everything I read, the overall viewership (8-8.5M viewers) is great (probably one of NBC's highest) The problem is the 18-49 demographic and those numbers are really ugly (1.0 and below) The show skews really old. Even DEK knows that the show mainly attracts older people.

It's not the last. Only 30 Rock is officially the last. People and the media are kind of freaking out/jumping the gun because they see a 13 episode order and they assume the show is dead after that.
I read they have cut the orders for some of these lower performing shows so they can budget in newer ones.

Why no love for Parenthood coming back? That's IMO NBC's best and most consistent drama.
