Re: Dick Clark has died of a Heart Attack
After all these years of his ill-failing health, I had a soft spot for the guy but I had no idea he was a pain in the ass to work with. That surprises me.
American Bandstand and Pyramid was done with by the time I was a kid. The only thing I remember him for was the New Year's Eve countdowns and his and Ed McMahon's face appearing on the envelopes for those Publisher's Clearing House type promotions.

Re: Dick Clark has died of a Heart Attack
Saw him on the last New Years Eve show- of course it was tape-delayed here on the west coast. He could hardly speak coherently, I was surprised they put him on at all.
Didn't know he was such a jerk offscreen, though the Bowling For Columbine thing sure made him look like one. Wonder if there's any outtakes somewhere of him cussing. (Like the famous Casey Kasem outtakes used on the infamous Negativland record?) I have one of his National Music Survey radio shows from 1982 on record- that's how they were sent out to stations.

I forgot what happened during Bowling for Columbine since I saw it maybe 9 years ago.

Maybe they can get Kirk Douglas to do the countdown.
Carson Daly or Ryan Seacrest who do you watch now on New Years Eve?

Re: Dick Clark has died of a Heart Attack
As it is, we did a New Year's Eve thing at my place this past year. When it got close to midnight, we decided to pause what we were watching and turn to watch the ball drop ... only to remember that they had showed it an hour earlier because of the time difference.

Re: Dick Clark has died of a Heart Attack
FOX had this country New Years Eve show.
Probably a little too late but maybe Regis Philbin could do it?
I thought he did it the year Dick Clark had the stroke.
If CBS was ever interested in doing a New Years show they could hire him.
