I thought this one was the best since the show's been back and to me it proves that the magic isn't missing. Just tons of great gags from start to finish.

It was explained that in an attempt to make the perfect "Subway" the guy had replaced his legs with subway sandwiches. Bizarre.

Loved the Subway storyline. For me this was one of Brita's best episodes. Favorite moment was the Subway exec changing his mind as the recording went on.

I get that people don't like product placement but I would rather have blatant, in your face, brand usage that works well with the story than it being forced and unnatural. In this case the storyline could stand on it's own and using a real brand like Subway mostly adds to it. If it were a made up brand I'm sure there would be a few cracks about how grossly inferior the product is compared to Shirley's sandwiches.

The other story lines didn't do much for me. Goodman has a great screen presence so he's always fun, and I always love Annie, but the stories were meh.

Community rating essentially the same as last week, didn't lose any ground against the return of TBBT.

Spoiler:

He had a raging erection from listening to Britta and Subway have backdoor sex including digital manipulation.

I agree. This was classic Community. Funny how people here used to complain that there were too many gimmick episodes. Now it's a problem when there's a "regular" episode.

Sounds like there is some discord on the set: http://www.deadline.com/2012/03/chev...or-dan-harmon/

This 'news' couldn't have been more obvious.

Chevy never exactly seemed to gel with the cast in any interviews of promotional material.

Is there anyone who has worked with Chevy Chase that didn't hate him. He is by far the most expendable, I hope that he is dropped from the show.

Re: Community -- "Digital Exploration of Interior Design" -- 3/29/12

while it seems like Chevy is a dick, why the fuck would Harmon berate him in front of his family and other people? that seems like a fucking dick move right there, no matter how much of an asshole chevy is.

fwiw, chevy was on howard stern years ago. from his comments that i remember, you could tell that he didn't really like the grind of network tv. he said it was tiresome always being on set waiting to shoot scenes.

While a dick move by Harmon, we don't know how much time had elapsed from Chase walking off the set and that speech. Nor do we know how pivotal that season-ending scene was. I can understand all of that coming to a head and just blowing up after dealing with his prima donna ass for months.

Re: Community -- "Digital Exploration of Interior Design" -- 3/29/12

Didn't think this episode was that funny.

I did chuckle when Piece drank the ink. The stuff with Britta and "Subway" was kind of dumb.

Jeff realizing he was an ass to Kim seemed like some sort of mocking of an afterschool special.

If this gets a 4th season, I wouldn't mind if they dropped Chase (for him being an ass) and Ken Jeong. Chang seems like dead weight since he was dropped as a teacher.

John Goodman looked really odd at the end with the bushy NASCAR goatee and the pony tail.

at Chase's audio rant to Harmon.

I agree with him about Harmon bashing him in front of his family. That was a dick move by him. Even if Chase is a Prima Donna on set, him being a showrunner should have more professionalism than that.

Dropping Chevy is one way to make the show cheaper to produce, though.

Apparently the ratings held steady against a new BBT. That has to be good news.

That's not good publicity...and the show needs good, not reports of infighting and people behaving like douchebags on both sides.

I think it's all true and disappointing. But I never let personal lives of those involved affect my enjoyment of entertainment, so I hope it just doesn't derail the show.

Re: Community -- "Digital Exploration of Interior Design" -- 3/29/12

I am fine with what Harmon said to Chase, albeit it was not the proper time and place. They've been in an uphill battle to stay on the air virtually since they started, the rest of the cast actually promo the show (something I don't think that I've ever seen Chase do), Chase has badmouthed the show in interviews since it launched, and now the showrunners have to worry about one of the stars causing issues internally? Screw him. Kill him off and give Leonard his spot. Someone should have straightened him out 30 years ago at SNL.

Medium talent.
