That performance by Jessica Sanchez may be the best thing I have heard on American Idol. It was perfection and brought me to tears.
On the guys side, I really like Phillip Phillps. Think the guy is really talented and oozes his music.
Couldn't understand a word Deandre said and I even know the song, and as always, I dont get the love for Jeremy.

Zero love for Jeremy here.
Jessica's performance didn't touch me tonight mainly because I was watching from my parents house and didn't have surround sound cranked up to 11. They were talking and the volume was low and I only heard portions. So, I'll find it on youtube and really listen to see what I missed.

Skylar will make good money singing, probably the most of this crew. I don't get the appeal for Deandre. Hollie and Jessica were good, but pretty boring/overdone songs. Everybody else was completely forgettable.

Clearly, the producers have been listening and are trying to make some changes. The judges actually offered some criticism with their praise and the judges will decide who actually goes tomorrow night. They also did a nice job of showing some actual mentoring, showing changes suggested by Iovine and Blige and showing why they suggested those changes.

^ Yeah, I enjoyed the coaching by Jimmy and Mary J, and the constructive criticism from the judges.

Jessica was awesome, even though that song is beyond tired and overplayed. It her competition to lose at this point. I also enjoyed Phillip, Erika, Joshua and Hollie.
If I had to guess who would be at the bottom, it would be between Elise, Shannon and Jeremy. I don't know why J-Lo loves Jeremy so much. For me Elise was the worst performance of the night. That Jazzy arrangement just didn't work and to me it looked like she was pissed that Jimmy and Mary made her pick that song.
One major positive from tonight was the really sound coaching from Jimmy and Mary along with the good criticisms from the judges.

Hollie was much stronger in last night's performance, though she still has weird transitional issues, like she's trying to fight off a British accent from creeping into her singing at times. But, small in stature, big voice.
At least Philip is somewhat entertaining on stage, brings up the enthusiasm level when he performs.
Jessica did really well with a hard song to do justice to. Just wonder when she'll own her talent and not be all giddy during judging.
Colton will still garner a lot of girl votes.
Heejun brings the funny, but does some serious karaoke for his performance.
The rest was meh to okay, I guess.

But I guess she can still carry that note just using her throat while smiling...because you can hear her take a quick breath right when it ends.

I think a guy will go home tonight (there are 7 of them, and I wouldn't mind seeing Jeremy, Deandre, or Jermaine go home).

Exactly. It's not like she closed her mouth and the note carried on. She does it seamlessly which is a testament to how strong a singer she is.

America got it right this week. That was 100% the correct bottom 2.
Not going to miss Jeremy at all. He has zero appeal as a recording artist.
Not really a fan of Elise, but I do think she has the potential to have a good week with the right song/theme. Whitney was not a good week for her.
I like Shannon and I'm glad she's getting another shot. Her singing talent is very raw, especially with her age, but she has potential.
Lauren Alaina was pretty good. It looks like she's losing some of the extra weight she had. Although something really weird happened with her hair/ear piece towards the end of the song.

Me too. I don't even know how he made it into the top 13... He was some sort of judge's surprise pick or something? I don't think he deserved it, especially compared to some of the people they passed on. It seems to me that he was picked because of his sob-story, or because they needed to fill a quota.

Too bad this loser took the place of some others. Maybe this will create an opportunity for one of the ones sent home earlier. However I'm not sure how fair that would be either this far down the road..
