Not a loss at all. Watched the first few episodes and was bored.

Really? If you consider how much of their schedule is taken up by X-Factor in the Fall and American Idol in the Spring, are they ever really hurting for actual non-reality programming?

I think they have some hopes for Touch.. and maybe this will save Fringe for one more season...

I am actually quite pleased to read this news. If it in any way results in permanently ensuring that television will never again be infected by Brannon Braga Mediocrity (TM), then we can rejoice in the fact that this show's existence will have served a very noble purpose indeed. So say we all. Amen.

Now THIS is a show that deserves renewing. Hope this is true.

I know some people liked this show and I don't like celebrating their loss, but I have to agree with those that say good riddance.

Re: FOX cancels Terra Nova

I gave up on the show after 3-4 episodes so no big loss to me. It had great potential though. Touch better live up to the hype of the pilot; fox's lineup seems pretty scarce these days. Bring back Jack Bauer; I want my Prison Break/24 Mondays back!!

Ah well. I only had a passing interest, but my 9 year old enjoyed a lot.

I found it entertaining, but it looked and felt like a SyFy show. With the budget they had, there was no excuse for that.

Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Confidential.

Seriously? That is two hours of programming. If they bring back Alcatraz, they only have an hour to fill (Touch).

I've read conflicting reports about the plans for Fringe. I do remember them throwing around the six season plan when it started, but I also remember an interview a few years later where they sort of backed away from that.

At any rate, I don't think it would be too difficult for them to compress two seasons of major arc stories down to thirteen episodes if they cut out all of the standalones and cases.

Re: FOX cancels Terra Nova

Wow, am I the only one who DOESN'T want FRINGE to come back? They were given a "gift" this year with a renewal and the writers have really slacked off on that show. If I were a network exec, there's no way I'd bring FRINGE back...it's one of the lowest rated network shows currently on.

ALCATRAZ I can take or say goodbye to...pretty much the same way I felt about TERRA NOVA...I'd watch it if it was on, but wouldn't miss it if it wasn't.

I think TERRA NOVA got the axe because FOX expects TOUCH to do quite well...but what happens if TOUCH's ratings look worse than TERRA NOVA and ALCATRAZ's in a few months?

If I were FOX, this is what I would have done with TERRA NOVA: No, we're not picking you up for 13 episodes, but we are picking you up for three 2-hour movies (essentially a six-episode order). That would have been a great way to keep costs down, quality the same, and the fans happy.

Will SYFY pick it up at a lower cost?

What lower cost? Under a million per episode to produce?

Except that FOX doesn't actually care about this.

Are there Terra Nova fans?

I enjoyed it, but I'm not really bummed it got canceled. They had 13 episodes to impress and they squandered whatever potential the premise had.

Re: FOX cancels Terra Nova

It would have been nice if they had made an interesting Sci-Fi show but they didn't.
The writing was bad and the plotting horrible. Was it a kids show or for adults?
Swiss Family Robinson is Stone Age? It could never seem to make up its mind.
I hope Fringe comes back for 13 episodes.

LMAO.

Not gonna happen folks. Its far to expensive and Netflix would have to commit to a 22 episode Season. They are better off saving a show that can be stripped for syndication which will be far cheaper.
