Another great episode. The zombie action this half has been nothing short of awesome.

What I am tired of is starting off the episode with action from later on, then we find out how everyone got there. This isn't a short by Tarantino; just edit the damn thing in a linear fashion.

Laurie got her ass TOLD by Andrea. I was starting to dislike Andrea, but that completely redeemed her in my eyes.

Glad Shane and Rick started getting things out, but you know one of them isn't making it out of this season. And it's obvious who.

I agree with this. BSG used to do it all the time too (and I'm not talking about the opening credits with the fast cuts).

A little off topic. I just watched season 1 on Netflix. They do not have season 2a yet. The only streaming episodes on Cablevision are newer ones from season 2b. Is there anywhere else that these can be found? Thanks

And I really liked the first season and thought Shane was a pretty good character.

Was thinking/wondering the same thing. He also wiped his hand over the blood where the zombies had been licking, in order to spread some more blood on the door. I thought that, combined with their deliberate comments about not needing to be bit and that scratches were enough, was perhaps foreshadowing that Shane might turn into a zombie.

Edit: Didn't read the rest of the thread before posting this. Interesting stuff and some good theories.

Yeah they're on iTunes and I think Amazon has them.

I liked the two scenes between Shane and Rick. That was a long time coming.

She wasn't being faced with the decision to be eaten or not. There wasn't a zombie in sight. They're living a relatively cushy life. Once zombies are knocking at the door, then off yourself.

Same. The women on this show blow. I wonder if there is a female writer on the staff. If so, she needs to be ashamed. If not, they need a couple, because the women are just written horribly.

It would also help if she had had even a little bit of character development prior to the storyline.
Case in point. They hould have killed her. One less whiny female on the show.

If they did it linear this episode, it would have been 50 minutes of drama and 5 minutes of zombie action at the end. People would have bitched even worse. I generally am against that method as well, but I think it worked well in this scenario.

I assumed he meant since he found out. He's known for awhile, right? He was just in the dark about the pregnancy.

So, instead we get 5 minutes of zombie action, drama, then the same zombie action again only extended. Fuck the whiners, just give it to me straight.

But, clearly, I'm only preaching to the choir here.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "18 Miles Out" -- 2/26/12

Didn't catch up with this until last night, but this was BY FAR my favorite episode of Season 2...heck, maybe my favorite since the pilot.

I thought the episode went a long way in bringing Shane back from "crazy", but then I see in the previews for next week that he's
Spoiler:
talking about taking over as leader again and getting rid of Rick
. I hope that's not the case...I do enjoy Shane and Rick at odds with one another on how to do things, but haven't enjoyed the "unstable" Shane we've seen for most of Season 2. I just hope the writers realize that Shane is quite probably the most interesting character they have and hope they decide to keep him around for the run of the show.

Considering Rosenthal was just cast as the lead in Darabont's "L.A. Noir" series on TNT, I wouldn't get those hopes.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "18 Miles Out" -- 2/26/12

My observations/comments:

1. When they recapped last week's episode during the first minute, the brightness/contrast level seemed fine! I could see everything. So much, that I was saying "oh! That's what it looked like!" I don't know what happened last week regarding the brightness level, but I didn't change anything. I watched both episodes (last week and this week) on my dvr. Weird.

2. Are the zombies moving way too fast this episode? Seemed like they were moving way faster than any living human could!

3. I don't think I like ANY of the characters! They all seem to be idiots, dicks, or assholes. I guess you have to be in that environment, but the comic didn't make everyone out to be such a jerk or idiot.

And now I'm picturing an episode of "Crocodile Hunter" where Steve (not zombie-Steve) teaches us about zombies ...

"Crikey ... this walker's a hungry little mate, isn't he? Now remember, he really doesn't mean any harm -- it's nothing personal. He's just a mindless eating machine and he likes the taste of humans. We can tap him on the head pretty easily because he is very slow and cannot anticipate our movements -- don't get too close to the mouth there!"

Here is an interesting fix ... for all of you who think either Shane or Rick has to go ... keep them both on the show and remove Lori from the equation. All tension is resolved (except for the blame).

They addressed the

casting rumor/death already on the AMC website. Basically, they won't say if he dies or not, but they did state that both series are only short 13-16 episodes seasons that film at different times so feel free to speculate, but nothing is 100%.

And that is assuming Noir gets made...

If it is not about this show, why post it in here?

It would be like if I posted that the main character in a series, was cast in another show the following year. You don't think that has a huge impact in what might happen during the actor's current show?

Why not remove it for the sake of people who haven't yet read it.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "18 Miles Out" -- 2/26/12

It was also talked about (unspoiled) in other WD threads already. Besides, it is only speculation at this point since the show has only been commissioned. Basically we have this:

Frank Darabont wrote a script for a TV movie that could also work as a pilot and said he'd like to also direct it. The studio liked the script and told him that if everything works they'd make it a series. Milo Ventimiglia has signed on for the movie, with the option of going on as a series. Right now a series is the focus, but TNT has a history of letting the pilot movie stand alone if they don't like it and no follow-up show will ever follow.

So... 1 writer. 1 director. 2 producers.
Spoiler:
Bernthal is not one of those 3 people.

I hope that Shane makes it out of this season. It looks to me that the writers have been setting up Shane's demise since the second half of this season started.

Spoiler:
The character dies pretty early on in the comics so in a way it was set-up from the beginning, but as time went on and all the changes started showing up I was thinking that he was gonna stick around longer. If I had to guess, I'd say Shane will die in the next 3 episodes (My guess is Lori kills him, not Carl), but who knows.

At first I was guessing they would kill Shane off by the end of the season. Then this episode made me change my mind. But with the preview for next week and
Spoiler:
Shane talking to Andrea about taking over the group
, I'm back to thinking they will off him in the season finale. Not sure who will do it.

Conjecture based on events in the comics:
Spoiler:
Since Carl hasn't had much (any?) gun training in the show, I don't think it will be him. Lori seems likely.
