Did you watch Season 2? It's really starting to develop into the great show people were expecting from the getgo.

Good to hear...since I enjoyed season 1.

Yep, Season 2 of Boardwalk was leap and bounds better than Season 1, in my opinion.

This is why I don't pay for HBO but I still watch HBO. FUHBO.

Yes, but all three combined probably accounted for less than half the budget of either of the other two series. I guess I'd just find it hard to believe that they are losing money by doing those shows. Bored may not be as profitable an enterprise as True Blood, GoT, or Boardwalk Empire but it has its following.

I'm guessing this will mean that The Life & Times of Tim is likely enjoying its final season, as well.
I must eat my words about Life's Too Short, it did get renewed but won't be back until 2013.

I would assume Life and Times Of Tim will be over after this season as well.

Ugh. Sad to hear about Bored to Death but not really surprised. I thought it was a great show, but nobody I know watched it.

HBO needs to make a spin-off of "How To Make It In America" called "Lake Bell Gets Dressed."

Hopefully, that won't be the last appearance of her glorious rack we are ever blessed with.

You were going to watch HBO without paying for it if they had kept the series on or not.

People using this as a valid excuse to pirate channels? Please

I thought the same thing when I read this post earlier. Honestly, I think this has a lot to do with what shows survive and which shows don't on HBO. Shows like "Hung" and "How to Make it in America" on their own are not worth subscribing to the channel for, but they are nice bonuses if they happen to air at the same time worth the money (for example "True Blood" and "Game of Thrones") which are event television.

I'll miss How to make it most. I really enjoyed that one. Overall though, no huge loses here. Good shows all around, but I can understand the cancellations. Now Carnivale and deadwood? Never be forgiven!

Fuck, just caught this thread. I could give two shits about Bored to Death, but How to Make it In America? I'm really going to miss this one. I liked Hung a lot, but I know most didn't. Gonna miss seeing Leanore naked.

True. That may be one of the biggest reasonings behind the show being cancelled (not sure how ratings work for HBO). The show had three pretty big main leads though so I'm assuming it was somewhat expensive. Still sucks though as the show is absolutely hilarious. The chemistry between the three guys was awesome and especially Danson was great on it.

Kind of bittersweet to see clips of these shows in HBO's 2011 promo that aired before Angry Boys the other night. Was hoping to see mention of CYE in the 2012 montage, but no such luck.

I paid for HBO since the early 1980's. After they started cancelling shows like Deadwood and Carnivale, I gave up on them. Now, I use an antenna because cable is too damn expensive.

I was just venting. I'm hoping SK's Dark Tower finds a home at HBO...so I can miss that as well.
