Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

I was watching the PBR (Pro Bull Riders) championship from Las Vegas this weekend and noticed Barry in the background during one sequence. He was right there ringside by the gates with the cowboys. Not the first time I've seen him at a PBR event.
He was in the pits during a NASCAR race a while back too.
That guy shows up in some interesting locations.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

From what I understand Barry is independently wealthy on some level and enjoys himself doing eccentric things across the country. Which is why I guess Barry's show was him traveling several states doing nothing much.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

I didn't realize Brandi and Jarred did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. What was funny is only Jarred was in on it. She had to be surprised because she's not that good an actress.

By Dan's Twitter, looks like he and Laura are signing up for another 2 years of Storage Wars.

Jarred confirmed on IG they closed the store last weekend. He's also finally letting his hair grow.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

Word is it returns in April.

The story going around is Brandi and Jarrod are just selling on eBay now. That will be interesting, because half of the inventory in their store was furniture, and you don't sell that on eBay unless it's local.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

They have another Barry special next week. Looks like they are trying to get as much out of him as possible without him returning.

Didn't watch the premier after realizing it was all Mary and no Brandi. I cannot stand that braying idiot. Swear to God Mary is the worst character on any show I watch or watched, even worse than Chumlee.

Brandon is not involved in this season.
He has a new finance. Kimber is gone
He dropped 100 pounds and looks a lot better.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

I don't think they'll ever recapture the magic that made early Storage Wars such a compelling show. There was a naivety to the auctions that is now lost.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

Yup. The issue with all of these type of show. Even Gas Monkey and Counting Cars. Who are they catering to anymore? Basically just rich folk. They have just gotten too large for me to care anymore. I could never use their service or get a car done by them. Subsequently it makes other body shops more expensive and people that have classic cars for sale think they are worth a fortune.

I think it happens to just about every successful reality series.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

I'm amazed American Pickers is still going. And it seems largely unchanged, too. I guess you can't really fake an old farmhouse or attic.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

I think AP works because it's not about the money. People tune in just to watch them find cool items in old barns. There's no made up controversy or drama.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

Just announced the new season, starting April 12. Hester is back, Dan and Laura are not. There's a new auctioneer.

And Brandi and Jarrod are back. Be interesting to see how they are selling stuff.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion

Dunno if anyone still watches, but there is a new series. This one is set in Canada. Looked really poorly produced and the people had no personalities at all. It'll last about as long as the Miami one, probably.

And Kenny is a terrible addition to the show. Can't act, can't fake it to save his life.
