Re: The Walking Dead -- "Secrets" -- 11/20/11
They basically just vary in page length. From small to big:
There are the regular issues. Trade Paperbacks. Hardbacks. Omnibus (bigger hardbacks). Compendium (like a phone book). I like the hard backs because of the nice paper-stock and good amount of issues. If you don't wanna drop $17 then go with the paperbacks for about $2 less. I know a site that sells them every few weeks/months for a good price that I can post when I get home. There is a thread on our comic-book board on this topic that you can search for as well. edit: Found it. I check here every 3 or 4 days and pick them up for well under amazon. http://www.thwipster.com/ |

I want to start reading the comics/graphic novels. But I'm confused which to read first. I see books on Amazon that are listed as "Book One" and also "Volume One" (and compendium one). Could someone be so kind as to PM me in the right direction? :D

I enjoyed this episode.
 Andrea finally got laid and hopefully now she'll be less uptight. Lori's secrets are now finally out and Glenn is finally growing some balls. I liked Maggie's little speech to him. His Zombie kill was bad ass. Okay, I thought Sarah Wayne Callies was hot on Prison Break and she looked healthy, but Jesus she looks anorexic on this show. |

I thought it was a good ep. Some decent dialogue and solid action. I still find it funny that there are so few zombies in the downtown area (at least there was one this time) but tons elsewhere, such as by that house. I also agree with the observations on the Talking Dead about how Rick took the news though I'm glad they didn't play him out to be a dummy and was ahead of the curve. Next week looks promising. Took a look at that picture. Interesting. . . Spoiler:

Finally, progress is made and things are said! I was glad that Dale went to speak with Hershell right after Glen spoke to him. And that Rick finally knows what's up. Although, as a friend told me it was pointed out on The Talking Dead, you can tell a woman wrote this episode based on Rick's reaction to learning Shane fucked his wife. "Oh, well, it's ok... you did think I was dead and all." Bullshit!
I really liked this episode... rather than perpetuate the current soap opera threads, it began to resolve them or at least move them to the next stage.

My god, is anything going to eventually happen on this show? It is boring as shit. I'm so sick of this farm backdrop and the long walks to try and find some little girl I never payed any attention to when she was actually on the show. I should probably stop watching but I have this weird OCD completist thing going on. I feel like I'm watching a badly acted, melodramatic soap opera most of the time, and keep in mind, I have all the original seasons of 90210 on DVD.

A whole lotta people were upset, you’ll recall, and this one person, so much so that he/she asked to be released from his/her contract. But, according to my moles, a funny thing happened between the time the request was made and when it was potentially granted. A change of heart. Now this member of the ensemble wants to stay. But it may be too late. (Even my sources don’t know for sure at this point whether the character is going to be written off, although one insider insists he/she ultimately got their wish.) So, your guesses? Who’s the Darabont loyalist who wanted his/her Walking papers, then decided they wanted them torn up? Spoiler:

As somebody stated earlier. I'm enjoying this show, but not really in the way the writers intended probably. There was too much whiny drama in this episode. @ Andrea all of a sudden head shotting every walker in sight, and then just grabbing Shane's junk. Nice of T-Dogg to get in his one line of the episode too... :)

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Secrets" -- 11/20/11
To be fair, Andrea was tearing it up on the practice course too....

How did the pharmacy zombie stand up after Glenn attacked it? Shouldn't the zombie have been paralyzed from the neck down?

And? Sure, any guy or hot girl can do things like that. But Andrea is a woman well past her coed hotness years so clearly things like shooting should technically be harder for her. Unless you include the obvious exceptions she is either Israeli or defending her kid from the Terminator.
