Andre the Giant was good, especially since they kept it short.
The other highlight for me was Garrison Keiller.

I thought that I remembered seeing Kristen Wiig do the triangle thing before. Maybe that's what it was from.

What's weird is I recognized Annamarie Tendler, one of the popular models at the Busted Tees website, during the monologue, behind Statler and Waldorf in the audience:

Yep, she looked different but that was her
Definitely a highlight of the episode
More like praying for a Mel Gibson or Charlie Sheen type of breakdown. Then he'd get a lot more screen time...

More than one complete dud (the retirement party comes to mind) but I still enjoyed the episode overall.

Katy Perry isn't performing her own show? How often does that happen.

^ Christina Aguilera, and Justin Timberlake's last time on he had another musical guest.
Glad Perry's not performing, extremely sick of hearing "Firework" on TV.

For me it was laid back, and I found the humor in that laziness. The reactions from the people at the bar, the fact that folks kept showing up and disappearing in between cuts, the straightforward "I'm a talented lyricist" schtick and then running sentences together... I just got it. Thought it was funny.

One of the best TV episodes in 2011?

The SNL that aired on November 19 was a perfectly charming example of why the show’s been on the air for nearly 37 seasons. Jason Segel, along with his middling piano skills, brought the everyman sweetness that has made him an improbably huge film star. Miss Piggy brought the puns. Seth Meyers was, of course, rock solid on Weekend Update, where guests included Jon Huntsman, the real one, and a self-described “real talking frog.” Andy Samberg's digital short purports to help men to seduce women through chess, and you won't want to miss the faux auditions sketch, with cast members spoofing celebs vying to replace the retiring Regis Philbin. Because, really, when was the last time you saw a really good Garrison Keillor impression? Or, for that matter, a bad one? Oh sure. Not every joke worked. One or two sketches fell flat, of course. Let's hope one or two always will. That's the beauty of the show. That ever-present possibly of someone totally bombing on live national television is a huge reason why the show has stayed so watchable since Ford was in office and Chevy Chase played him.
