Re: Dexter--Season 6, Episode 7: "Nebraska"
I think Gellar is a figment. Dexter has now killed one person who made him struggle with his code and conscience (Brother Sam's killer). He released another (Trinity's son).
I think he'll somehow discover Travis in Gellar mode, making him look like a monster. Then Travis will surface and show his conscience, regrets, and inner turmoil. What to do, Dexter, what to do?
If I am right, I just hope they don't have Travis/Gellar attack Dexter and force his hand, giving him an easy out like the hotel dude did.
Also, I thought brother Brian was a decent idea but too over the top for Dexter. If Brian had been written to play it cool while still making the same points, it would have been more in line with Dexter's overall personality and much harder for him to argue with. I found Brian a bit tiresome.
Still a great episode.

Re: Dexter--Season 6, Episode 7: "Nebraska"
The very fact that we see Harry shows us sometimes we see a scene as an important participant might. No one else in the show is able to see Harry, and we wouldn't be able to either if we could only see what's real. We'd just see Dexter doing whatever "Harry" is doing.
We get Dexter's inner thoughts (narration). We get his imaginary friend(s). And if his imaginary friend(s) do(es) something, we get that too, because we're seeing it all from Dexter's point of view at that moment. That could be what's going on with Travis. We may see the professor doing something NO ONE is doing, because we're being shown Travis's point of view. We may even see a scene where there is the professor and no Travis, but that could simply be because again, we're looking at it from Travis's point of view. He's the one doing it, but in his mind, the professor is.
If you look at the professor scenes as possibly being from Travis's point of view, there simply hasn't been any concrete evidence either way.

We don't know that Travis "somehow took his personality." IF the professor we see isn't real, it would only mean that Travis has had a break, and the visual manisfestation of one side of his personality is the professor. For all we know, what Travis's "professor" acts like is nothing like how the real professor acts (or would act).
It's always being said that people on the fringe (or over the edge) can take things and twist them into contorted dark things the source never intended. Maybe Travis was the professor's student, but he took the professor's teachings way dark, perhaps even showhow killing the professor at some point due to a disagreement. Now he's free to put his own professor in place to further his demented thinking.

Just announced on Dexter's facebook page.
Renewed for 2 more seasons.
We are so excited to announce that DEXTER has been renewed for two more seasons!
Michael C. Hall told us that “On behalf of the entire DEXTER family, we relish the invitation to delve ever deeper into Dexter’s world.”
Production will begin on season seven in 2012 in Los Angeles and seasons seven and eight will consist of 12 episodes each. We can’t wait to watch the story of Dexter Morgan play out!

Ugh. I like the show, but it is another show that doesn't know when enough is enough.
They should have had Deb find out in the season five finale. The main actors all had one year left on their contracts so it was set up perfectly to let her find out, then have one more season to deal with the aftermath. Season six should have been the last season.

Okay I misread your comment. Problem is, Dexter is shot early in the Spring. There is no way they can wrap things up unless Showtime would have told them specifically "This is the last season"

Its also too late to go back and rewrite the end of season five. It obviously would have required them to have planned it out during season five. Clearly now, with the path they have chosen, they couldn't end the show at the end of this season.

I loved that moment too.
