Was the maid poisoning the Commodore under Nucky's orders? I seem to remember that after the reveal Nucky gave her money and she just left without being arrested.

Yeah, it wasn't the maid and we were never told who really did.
I think most people suspected Jimmy's mother.

to the third season renewal

All I can say is thank God for Elvis and The Beatles, because music in the 1920s sucked big hairy donkey balls.

Van Alden's family sounds hardcore, never speaking to his aunt again for taking him to a Christmas program.

I see I'm not alone in having drifted off during S1 but being pleasantly surprised by S2. I didn't watch the last few episodes of last season but am really liking it this time around. The restaurant scene was awesome.

Everyone knew Van Alden was damaged goods, so I guess it's not too surprising that his parents were too.

No kidding. Cole Porter? hack. Jerome Kern? Way overrated. Irving Berlin? Couldn't write a tune to save his life. And don't get me started on Louis Armstrong or "Jelly Roll" Morton.

Wow, you are so wrong. I mean, yes, thank God for Elvis and the Fab Four, but 20's music has it's own charms too. It doesn't work for you apparently, I have always really dug music from that era.

Well, they don't seem to be playing the good stuff from that era. At least, not that I'm noticing. All the music sounds the same, the same timbre, the same voice modulations...

Why did Van Alden give money to Mickey Doyle (the guy that keeps changing his name)?
