Breaking Bad -- "Cornered" -- 8/21/11

Re: Breaking Bad -- "Cornered" -- 8/21/11
My thoughts:
Jesse and Mike....I like this combination, even though neither Mike nor Jesse (nor we) fully understand what is going on....but both are learning from each other. And I agree with Skyllenhaal at least when it comes to Walt's car purchase, but not when it comes to his motivations, actions from that scene at the beginning.
Unfortunately Walt Jr. is going to be caught in the middle and it is going to suck for him. Will Walt own up to any of the responsibility and defend Sky Hill Zone? And yeah despite Walt knowing all about Chemistry....there are two things (at least) he might want to work at....the first thing is, when talking to someone about their situation, don't say "This is all about me!" Next is being smart about certain situations: If Jesse were alone by himself, he would have put on his headphones and got to work. That was just an idiotic decision on Walt's part to bring the three women in. I even thought that due to Walt being such a dick earlier, that he knew they would be killed, and that's why he was smiling at the camera and showing how he handled the problem. Glad to know he isn't THAT far off the deep end just yet.
Hey maybe he can hire a social skills coach or something, but then Skynatown will count it as an unnecessary expense.

Gus is trying to belittle Walt and show him who's boss. Walt may be looking stupid now but I think he's gonna screw Gus and then he will be "The one that knocks"
By the way how's a guy like Walt end up with a decent looking gal like Skeye****?

Gus is playing his "cultivation" of Jesse perfectly ... let him "save" Mike's life, then allow himself to be seen, showing that Jesse is supposedly now part of the group. Gus's encouragement at the end and Walt's accurate though unflattering description of the reasoning seems like Gus may replace Walt as the figure of authority in his life ... again, if Gus can keep Jesse with Mike to get him clean and win him over, then he can kill Walt and still have a cook he can better control.
It is possible Gus actually sees something in Jesse, like he said. Jesse did kill an 'innocent' man in cold blood out of loyalty to Walt. I see Gus as a man who respects loyalty in his underlings. Gus might want to keep him around with Mike.
Walt is a fucking idiot though. With all the shit that's happened to him this season, why is he acting like a pissy bitch all the time? Bringing those maids down and showing it off for the camera was idiotic. Not only did he obviously endanger their lives, bringing them to a secret meth lab, but he did it just to piss off Gus. Walt used to be naive, but at least he was cautious. Now he lacks naivety, but is completely reckless.

It's been a bit slow for me but not complaining at all. The hour goes by so quickly that it feels like a half hour show. Which is a good thing.

Just an ok episode for me. I loved the scene with Walt saying he is the one who knocks, etc... Furthermore, I've been saying it since I started watching this show that I absolutely cannot stand Skylard. Where'd Ted Benecke go, did she eat him? It looks like she has put on about 40 lbs. this season.

I wonder if walt could order all the chemicals he needs for meth now that he owns a car wash. Maybe he will have his own lab in season 5 and the meth will be sold to the illusive cartel.
The Skyler mis-spellings feel like they were old three weeks ago, and at this point I have to say that I find it more annoying than those who choose to correct mis-spellings.
Who would have thought that something even more annoying than spell correction on an internet forum, could have been spawned because someone felt the need to correct someone on the spelling of Skyler. What a can of fucking worms......

Skynatown

Ayway my favorite scene in this series so far was walt's speech to Skyexitor saying he is the one who knocks, that was brilliant.
Not only that but Skylactate was trying to leave but couldn't. I wonder what was keeping her from leaving? I suppose it must be her son.

On the other hand she's really concerned about getting caught and their safety. The way the last episode ended it makes you believe she came back to make sure Walt doesn't fuck up. Same example Walt Jr's car.

demeanor was that bitchy this episode. Definitely tamed down from other episodes.
I thought it was in reference to the previous poster calling her Skye ****.
