She can be a bit of a bitch, but I don't really have a problem with Skylar. She isn't stupid.
I don't understand how Walt could just have Skylar and his kids hanging around with a cartel around and a pissed off Gus. He knows he's in a very dangerous situation and his time will come soon enough - isn't that good reason to get the wife and kids the hell out of dodge?
There's definitely something going on with the minerals. At first I thought it was just something that Hank is hiding behind to avoid dealing with stuff... but it's been mentioned too often already.
Jesse obviously wants to avoid thinking about killing Gale... and always wants to be around people. However, when he's by himself, and knowing that the shit could come down on him at any time, I don't get how he would feel safe with the music blaring around him drowning out any sounds of someone coming after him. I'd be paranoid and would want to be able to hear if someone was trying to get in.

Re: Skyler phone conversation
The whole point of money laundering is to make it look like the money is coming from a seemingly legitimate business. You don't keep the business itself a secret. So talking about buying a legitimate business on the phone is perfectly fine and is in fact how one would expect normal non-criminals to behave. Walt's paranoia was far more suspicious than anything Skyler said. I think Skyler was even trying to make this point with her "we can talk about an honest business, it's not a brothel".

I agree on both counts.
I'm pretty sure it was Gus, rather than Mike.

I'm pretty sure the writers confirmed it was actually Mike on the phone, though it sounded like Gus to me as well.
Another great episode.
In line with Mabuse's comment about the accuracy of the gun scene, I quite liked Badger and Slim discussing zombie video games.
And yes that opening scene reminded me of Deadwood so much.

No.It was Mike. Why would Gus call Walter when he didn't even know he was coming. Gus is not going to tell Walt to go home if he sees him coming. Mike knew because when Walt asked Mike at the lab where Gus was and Mike said he would never see Gus again. Mike knew that Walt wanted to see Gus badly so he was one step ahead of him.
'Late that night, Walt approaches Gus's house, gun in hand, but loses his nerve when Mike calls telling him to "Go home, Walter." His every move is being watched.'

I don't think it has anything to do with him wanting to be around people or that he is worried about someone coming after him. He just wants to avoid silence. The guilt is eating him alive and he's doing everything he can think of to drown out the sounds of his own thoughts.

Mike could have let Gus know that Walter was there, but Gus made the call and told him to go home in a condescending manner to point out the naivety of Walter thinking he could just walk up to his home and kill him.
BTW, how about Bryan Cranston at Jesse's party? He sits up right in front of the camera:

Really slow, very well done episode. Seemed it was Aaron Paul's Emmy submission.
I don't get the Skylar hate myself either. I too watched season 1-3 in a very compressed period so her motivation and actions all seem normal and not "bitchy" at all to me.

I still don't buy that it was Mike that called. It completely sounds like Gus, including a trace of accent.

Seems it was neither Mike or Gus that called Walt:
It was the new guy.

All I noticed was later in the show Mike told Walt he needed to get better at detecting a tail. Obviously someone was following him just in case he got froggy on going after Gus, and made the call.
I too had assumed that was Mike.

He said Walt needs to learn how to tail better, referring to Walt tailing Mike.

"You might want to learn to tail a little better if you're going to make a habit of it."
I thought he said 'detect' in that phrase, and incorrectly assumed it was about the phone call, not about how Walt found him at the bar.

I thought it was pretty obvious that Gus was the one who called Hank. Either him or he had Mike do it for him. Either way, it came from Gus.

Yeah you missed and forgot some things.
One of the main reasons why I like this show so much is they don't spoon feed everything to the audience, beating you over the head with exposition and explanation, you have to think a little, and remember things for context from time to time. It's an intelligent show and you have to pay attention to get what's going on.

So yeah, I like that the show doesn't spoon feed things to you and makes you remember things, but that wasn't even what I was getting at. I remember everything that you said. My question was, during the phone conversation did she say, "We need to make an offer on the car wash" or did she say, "We need to make an offer on the car wash so we can start laundering your meth money"? Because, there's a big difference. I didn't forget anything and don't appreciate the implication. Even if the phone was tapped, if she just said what I think she said, there's nothing illegal about that. Oh, and if you're suggesting it's because it would tip authorities off that they had more money coming in than they could account for, that's just as obvious when you take into consideration they're paying all of Hank's medical bills. So again, I don't think Skyler did anything inherently wrong by leaving that message; I think Walt was just extra on edge. And I don't think there was anything inherently wrong with making the offer herself, since they were going to buy the business outright, and as a result probably have a lot more control over it and a lot less liability.
But hey, it's easier to insult my intelligence than actually try and understand my question.

This is pretty much his m.o. here. Don't take it personally. Just ignore him like most others do.

I don't really care, I probably came off sounding more insulted than I really was. More mildly annoyed than anything else.
