There is no need to give us a reason. She's obsessed because a 17 year old girl was brutally murdered. If I were a detective in such a case I'd be pretty obsessed with finding the killer too. As would anyone. I hope they leave it at that and not reveal something about her back story that we don't need.

Yeah, but this comes up all the time in movies and TV. Character A is a dedicated [cop\fireman\private investigator] and the spouse, Character B, does nothing but yell at him\her about how they're never around.

I first noticed this in Donnie Brasco, where Anne Heche's role as Donnie's wife was to wear a bath robe, look disheveled, hold two crying babies in her arms, and yell at Donnie for being away from home. I just wanted to scream "hey bitch, he's an UNDERCOVER FBI AGENT, cut him some slack, OK?".

I've seen it a million times since, especially in this show. Posters at other message boards were crowing about how Linden finally got called out for being an absentee mother... even though this is only day 10 of the investigation and we have no idea what life was like in Linden's past.

I don't know about you, but the show's made it abundantly clear that this behavior is the norm for Linden, and actually got worse in the past, to a point where she was actually at risk of losing her son (even though his father isn't in the picture?).

So, yeah, she pretty much is an absentee mother.

So I was 9 episodes off..but what can you do.

The boat and casino stuff at the end was terribly done. That was some lucky jog. Great work detectives.

I am thoroughly unimpressed by these cops. If they were investigating my daughter's murder I'd go vigilante too. Linden also lacks the ability to use a cell phone, have any control over her son, or maintain a relationship.

And it's going to end up being one of Richmond's assistants.

The worst thing about Linden is that she killed Rosie Larsen.

The worst/best part is going to be when she has flashbacks/starts remembering all that happened!

So you may have actually killed an innocent man? I.e. Bennett?

I still find it funny how a detective who is very obsessed with this case can be so bad at her job (ie. the key chain logo and "Adela"). It would make more sense for this stuff to be missed/ignored by a detective who just considers the job a 9-5 gig and doesn't let it effect them emotionally - but even then I would find it hard to believe that those clues were not followed through properly.

Probably is one of the assistants, there doesn't seem to be any point to that storyline otherwise.
