I don't care about the slowness. The only thing that can become an issue is if they abuse using red herrings. I don't think that's the case yet.
Still, for me, the quality of the show is below Mad Men and Breaking Bad. It's a good show, but the quality it's not up there with those shows.

I don't watch Mad Men, but you're right, definitely nowhere near as good as Breaking Bad. I would put it ahead of The Walking Dead though, if only because the writing on that show was so godawful during the first season.

I was going to say it was on par with TWD, I like that show, but it has split reviews in this forum, so...
Has anyone read about ratings? I follow one of the producers in twitter, and the first weeks he posted some ratings number and after that stopped posting them, he still post about some other stuff, what he's eating, wearing
, so I wonder about the future of the show.

Saying people don't like its slow pace because they are used to murders being solved in an hour is not why a lot of people are disliking it. I don't mind a slow pace at all, if its an interesting ride. The characters aren't very likeable and kinda dull. Especially the whole Political campaign subplot. Lose already.
We get it, it's gloomy up there but does everyone have to be?

The maine thing that bothers me is the cliché of Linden constantly delaying her move to California to start her new life with fiancé Rick. I can't stand this part of the series. Wasn't thrilled with this episode though either.
I don't mind the pace but we have seen the parents grieve enough. Move on from that.

Nevermind the fact that their daughter is dead, and they're only a few days removed from that. She also died in a horribly tragic way, and the parents only have their imaginations and a few images to imagine what their beloved daughter's final moments alive might have been like.
In the realm of keeping the show real, a little bit of grieving has to happen for the sake of the narrative, IMO.

Not only that, but it humanizes Rosie. Otherwise, she'd just be some faceless victim that we wouldn't think twice about.

Rosie was on two episodes of Stargate Universe..At least I think that was her. That will probably be the twist ending..Will turn out that The Killing is a Stargate spinoff. The opening scene of her running through the forest..she found a Stargate and went through. The body found isn't her, it's the twin the mob boss required them to give up so that he could cut ties and get out of the game.

Yeah, that's her in SGU.
Has anyone rewatched the first episode, the first scene, just to see if they can identify the killer? From memory it looks like a big man. But I'm not really sure.

That's who I think did it. Can't really explain why but everyone else seems to obvious and he is the one person we really don't know much about besides he is Sarah's fiancee

That is an understatement of what is happening on the screen. At least a third of the show is on the family. If this was drama about how this killing affected people lives I would agree, but this show is a who-done-it. So after a few episodes, I posted that a family member must be involved. It would be a horrible red herring to spend this much time on a family in a who-done-it. You may argue that it could be both a slice of life drama and a who-done-it, but I would doubt that. That would split the viewers focus and frankly be piss poor writing. IMO it has to be a family member/friend and most likely linked to an unseen event. I am cheating by meta-solving the crime, "What would writers do?" rather than "What does the evidence indicate?".
