I wasn't necessarily high on Jeremy Davies right away as this season started, but by the end his merits had shown through immeasurably. He played one hell of a compelling character. If you watch, Dickie was the weak one of the bunch and the one most likely to be killed first, but his cunning, vision, bravery, and skill (and sure, a little luck) pulled him through every situation. I think he HAS to get out of jail and somehow be a part of season 3 (or 4 or whatever they deem fine as a time to break him out). Absolutely have a ton of respect for Jeremy Davies' portrayal of Dickie Bennett.
I had to go back and watch it again. Art had some of the one of the best lines (comedic, anyway) of the episode. "Do you dumbass **********s understand English? Get on the ground, hillbillies!"
I liked Raylan's line to Boyd too "If it makes you feel any better, you can tell everyone I asked." And I love that Boyd, for all of his evil spirit and return to his evil ways, let Raylan have her. (Not that he had anything to gain by trying to prevent it.)
I wonder what kind of Dickie we'll see if/when we see him again. As devious as he was this season, what would being in jail and being effectively disowned again (Mags left her "troubles" behind, and I don't think it'd be a stretch for him to count himself among them to be with her boys again and leave Dickie on his own in the world.) I can only imagine how much more ramped up he would be. (Although being an escapee would effectively limit the things he could do, I would imagine. However, it seems there are many more nooks and crannies into which he could disappear, I suppose.)
I REALLY can't wait until season 3 and season 2 has been gone all of 20 hours.

When Winona confessed her pregnancy, I would have bet money that she'd be dead by the end of the episode. Seems many of you don't like the character, but I won't complain since she's so easy on the eyes.

Raylan shot three people this season. Coover and the two guys who tried to kill Winona. The girl who played Loretta did an amazing job in the final minutes of last night's show. Very sad but good ending, I thought Mags would survive before Dickie. They left it open for Ava surviving, but I kind of hope she doesn't come back. I thought she had the weakest story arc this year. But overall its been a great season. Maybe season three will start earlier, possibly around January.

What's going to keep Dickie out of circulation? I highly doubt he's going down for Eva, and I'd guess that Raylan is going to minimize what happened to him as a sort of payback to Boyd for not returning Dickie. I'd guess he might even just do some misdemeanor time.

And he's going to be a very rich man when he does get out.

I disagree, especially since Mags said everything is going to go to Doyle and his family. She was a smart woman and I'm sure she set it up to where Doyle and his family got everything from the Black Pike deal.

I would agree. I'm sure Doyle had his family getting everything eventually. If Doyle's family were to be gone, though, would THAT matter? Wondering what Dickie would do to get that money. Should be interesting to find out.

Excellent finale and this season beat the first one on all fronts IMO. I think the fact that they didn't shy away from the serialization and didn't feel the need to keep squeezing in a 'case of the week' REALLY benefited the show and made it something special. Can not fucking wait for season 3.

Damn, what a great end to the season! I didn't even realize this was the finale! Add me to the list of people who can't wait for season 3.

Just finished the season with the last two eps. back to back. I have to say that in a perfect world, this series would sweep the Emmys in the supporting acting categories. Only problem is I feel the both Margo Martindale and the actress who played Loretta are worthy of noms, and both Goggins and Davies are as well. Hell, in the next to last ep. I thought Olyphaunt did a damn good job, especially where you could tell he was contemplating killing Dickie.
Boyd will definitely seek a reckoning with Dickie. The way he handled the attempted takedown by the Bennetts shows that he knows how to get something done. Can't wait for season 3!

Great finale. Mags was an amazing character.
Yeah, he isn't going to do time for shooting Ava. I doubt anyone involved in the firefight is going to admit to the authorities that anything happened. And he didn't break any laws during the shootout at the Bennett's.
Conceivably he could face charges for assaulting Raylan, but considering Raylan basically kidnapped him afterwards (and Raylan may be unwilling to press charges against Dickey anyway, giving Boyd his chance for vengeance) that it might be difficult making anything stick.
Hopefully Dickey limps away from this a free man, so he can have a role in season 3.

Season three news
New season starts in January, I am sure they will find a way to bring back Dickey Bennett, and Wynn Duffy & the Dixie mafia as well.
Season three news
Fans of FX’s Justified have been wondering since May’s second season finale how producers would match Margo Martindale’s Emmy-winning performance as Mags Bennett. Well, now we know: Desperate Housewives‘ Neal McDonough and 24‘s Mykelti Williamson, who both starred on Justified EP Graham Yost’s brilliant-but-canceled NBC drama Boomtown, have been cast as the awesomely named big bads of season 3. McDonough will recur as Quarles, a Detroit mobster in a sharp suit who comes to Kentucky with visions of becoming a crimelord. Williamson will play Limehouse, a man who lives in a small black town in Harlan County and who will do whatever it takes, legal or otherwise, to protect his holler.
We’ll meet both characters early in season 3, which premieres in January. The show — which also earned Emmy nominations for stars Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins and guest actor Jeremy Davies, who’ll return — began production on the first of 13 new episodes Monday.

F/X has bee re-airing the show late on Wed nights (2 or 3 episode per week) and they are about halfway through season 2 for those wanting to catch the last 5 or 6 episodes before the new season (and are either night owls or have DVR's)
Apologies for the thread bump, but didn't seem worth a thread,
And after re-watching half of season 2... can't wait for the new season!
