Once it becomes up to the audience to vote the show goes off the rails. Each season starts strong then winds up being predictable and dull by the end.

Could not agree more....

Plus I really think they need to stop having 2 seasons a year- they are going to burn the show out, if they haven't already. 1 season a year is plenty..

Shakira is looking really good this season. At least she isn't pregnant like she was in season 4.

The 1st girl Christina was pretty awesome. Not surprised she chose Adam.

My wife and I are already calling that Christina Grimmie is going to win.

Edit: Fixed her full name

Re: The Voice (NBC) -- Season 6 Thread -- Shakira and Usher return

Christina was great. I think she's already the front runner. I also really liked Biff. He did a great job with that Sam Cooke cover. He will probably run into trouble in the knockouts facing the younger artists.

Glad all four passed on that 16 year old boy. His vocals weren't mature enough.

Loved the last girl Bria. Liked that she took on a blues cover. A little surprised she took Usher.

Btw, Shakira looked perfect tonight.

Bria was excellent as well. Could end up being a showdown between her and Christina Grimmie - The fact that Christina has a huge following on YouTube will give her a big advantage assuming she makes it to the live shows.

Re: The Voice (NBC) -- Season 6 Thread -- Shakira and Usher return

Night 2 last night was just as entertaining.

Blake and Adam's bromance absolutely cracks me up. I can see why they remain a constant fixture of this show. Their chemistry is so good.

As for the talent, I liked Delvin. He really did a great job with that Donny Hathaway song. Immense improvement from last season.

Madilyn Page had a very unique voice.

Cary Laine was good, but she's your typical dime a dozen country artist.

Deja Hall was good for her age, but she's a little too young.

Didn't care for Noah. He's your typical boring crooner. Blake got a dud there.

at Adam making fun of Shakira and her accent.

Honestly, I prefer the 1 hour show over the 2 hour. It moves at a much brisker pace.

They still need to adjust the formula on how they segment.

VoiceOver - and Shakira still is left without a contestant for the night!

Oh look, she wins the next round!!

A few contestants seem promising to be string, but nobody has bowled me over yet.

It seems like they shoot all the blind auditions in 1 day. The coaches are wearing the same clothes in each episode. I guess they probably shoot for 10-12 hours and then edit it off into these early episodes.

Yeah I agree, the editing can sometimes be a little clunky.

Bump

Tonight it's another 2 hours and week 2 of the Blind auditions.

Here's all the contestants that have been chosen so far

Loving Shakira being back. Way more hotter, cooler and humble than X-tina.

Can't believe the girl who sang the Lorde song got picked. I didn't think she was very good.

Re: The Voice (NBC) -- Season 6 Thread -- Shakira and Usher return

I thought this was a pretty weak crop that came out of tonight's group. Sisaundra was the best IMO, but we've seen a lot of performers like her on here before and they never make it to the finals.

I was surprised they didn't take the blonde who went second to last. She was much better than the nanny who I thought sounded like a mess signing "Royals."

Re: The Voice (NBC) -- Season 6 Thread -- Shakira and Usher return

I liked Clarissa Serna. Doesn't have the strongest vocals, but she gave a pretty solid performance of that Cranberries song. She also got Shakira really fired up.

But I agree, most of tonight's singers weren't that memorable.

Re: The Voice (NBC) -- Season 6 Thread -- Shakira and Usher return

Sisaundra was pretty good, although we've seen singers like her in the past. Kind of reminds me of a power vocalist like Frenchie Davis, who was in season 1. Blake's roster so far is pretty weak, so he did get someone strong to balance it out & her experience working with someone like Celine Dion certainly helps.

I hated DeShawn Washington. His performance came across as really corny.

Here's Clarissa's performance. I loved how fired up Shakira got.

In an article posted in the Shark Tank thread, it was mentioned that on that show they have to wear the same outfit (or a duplicate outfit) for several days of shooting because they combine/air the segments out of order and they want to give the illusion than an episode is a linear, cohesive event. I imagine they do something similar here.

In fact, just found this from the previous season:
Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green — will return to tape the show’s blind auditions from July 9-12

Re: The Voice (NBC) -- Season 6 Thread -- Shakira and Usher return

Tonight's group was pretty decent.

I liked Emily B and she has a pretty compelling backstory. Amazing that she's able to sing after recovering from brain surgery.

Audra McLaughlin was IMO the best of the night. I was so sure she was headed to Adam's team. Blake stole a good one there. Blake and Adam kill me. They have such great bromance chemistry.

at the chick named Music Box. Really?

So far, so good. I've been doing pretty well keeping up with this and watching the night it airs.

Agree, "music box" should be excluded on a technicality. It's like singing equivalent of meta world peace.

I liked the young 20 something kid with blonde hair. Think he sounded a bit like John Mayer, but that's not a bad thing. With some coaching I think he could go far.

I've only watched a couple of the blind auditions so far and haven't really been impressed by any of them. The "coffehouse" duo on night one was pretty solid, as was the chick from AGT. That's about it for me.

This is only my second season watching the show. I really enjoyed last season. I do like Shakira and Usher much better than Ceelo and Christina.

Shakira is one of the hottest women i have ever seen. she seems to be nice as well and not a diva.

Re: The Voice (NBC) -- Season 6 Thread -- Shakira and Usher return

I guess I'm the only one who is consistently watching this the night it airs.

With the large amount of shows going on right now and new shows constantly premiering this midseason, I know it's probably really difficult for some of you to keep up with this season at 3 hours per week.

Anyways, decent group in tonight's 2 hours.

Loved Josh Kaufman, the last guy who sang the George Michael song. I think he's a real sleeper. Adam stole a good one there.

I also liked Kat Perkins, the rocker Nanny with the tattoos. She had a good sound.

Not a big fan of duos, because I can't see people rushing out to buy or download their songs, but for this show's purposes, I think Alaska and Madi were pretty good. Natural fit for Blake.

Next to Josh, I also liked Jake Barker. He needs work, but he has a lot of potential. Good falsetto.

Re: The Voice (NBC) -- Season 6 Thread -- Shakira and Usher return

Is anyone caught up?

Last night was the final blind auditions episode. Mostly filler just to fill the remaining teams.

Honestly, I think Adam and Shakira gave the strongest and well rounded teams. Blake IMO has the weakest team.

Early favorite is Christina on Team Adam.

Re: The Voice (NBC) -- Season 6 Thread -- Shakira and Usher return

Agree on team assessments. I event commented how Blake had the weakest team.

I'd have to go back and see who's who to pick my top 3-5. I should take noted and see how everything shakes out at the end of the season.

I'm still baffled how some of these contestants get picked. Perhaps moreso when you see a coach grimace, only to have another push their button.

Re: The Voice (NBC) -- Season 6 Thread -- Shakira and Usher return

Shakira's team is balanced, but I don't see anyone on it that can win the show.

Adam's team is usually strong, but he has some dead weight like Sam Behymer, the girl who did the terrible Lorde cover, and Austin Ellis.

Spoiler:
Though I think he realized he made a mistake with Ellis as it looked like in the previews Adam paired him with Josh Kaufman in the battle round, who should blow Ellis off the stage
