Poor Gwen didn't stand a chance.

I liked Martin in the blind auditions, but thought she was awful last night.

Its a shame that the brothers were to schtick-y because they are much more talented then the one trick pony Erin... Shes awful. She will most likely be voted off first by the audience. Even Ne-Yo didnt like her.

Also I think Jermaine is the favorite now... Shitty song but probably the best performance Ive seen in the battle rounds.

Only saw the first two battles. WTF was Ce Lo smoking? That bitch can't sing. What an awful voice.

Gwen will be on Blake's next tour:

Seems like he's really a smart choice for people to pick as mentor.

Re: The Voice -- The Battle Rounds Thread -- Mondays (NBC)

I don't think Cee Lo goes out of his way to obfuscate which head he uses for making decisions. Occasionally people on "reality" shows do things that peg the creep-o-meter and while it may not take #1 all-time, Cee Lo's, "Quite obviously you belong to me, don't you agree," comment has to be up there.

I don't think that's the only factor Cee Lo uses in making decisions, but I do think it has played a significant part with Erin Martin. If only I were as smitten as he obviously is.

Yeah, Erin was fucking awful on "What's Love Got to do with It." That was like a bad, drunken karaoke night performance. Can't believe she made it through.

Probably the worst battle round yet, no one really was great IMO.

Re: The Voice -- The Battle Rounds Thread -- Mondays (NBC)

Finished the rest of the Battle Round last night

Gwen vs Erin: Kind of a toss up for me. I thought both weren't too bad. But, I'm happy for Erin. Sad that her father passed away.

Katrina vs Angel: Oh man, Angel was so stiff on that performance and sounded nervous as hell. Not really a fan of Katrina, but not surprised she went through.

Not my favorite Battle Round thus far, but as I said earlier I did like Jermaine and I think Ashley has potential.

Bump

Last Battle Rounds episode is tonight.

2 more hours

Some additional bad choices in the last battle round. I think the worst offender was the last performance/choice. Some really bad picks, and I feel as though I'm left with only a handful of good options left.

No shit. Are the judges deaf?

There has to be some kind of mandate of who the producers want and dont want because it honestly doesnt make much sense at times...

Re: The Voice -- The Battle Rounds Thread -- Mondays (NBC)

Okay, finished Monday's episode last night.

Thank God the Battle Rounds are over. That was probably the worst of of all the groups.

James vs WADE: Terrible. James has a really whiney voice. He has no chance of winning.

Mathai vs. Nicolle: Awful. Nicolle came out so flat and out of tune. Mathai wasn't great either, but was slightly better than Nicolle.

Moses vs. The Line: -screwy- I don't get Christina picking Moses. I thought The Line was great. Plus, the blonde chick is kind of cute.

 at how pissed the blonde chick was. She knew they were robbed.

Orlando vs. Karla: Blah

Tony vs. Justin: WTF was Cee-Lo smoking? Justin was way better than Tony. Tony was too over the top.

Honestly, Cee-Lo has the worst team of all the judges. No way does one of his guys wins.

Naia vs. Jordan: Meh, I thought Naia was alright.

Out of all the contestants left, I like Jermaine and Jesse.

movieking 03-30-12 08:56 PM

Re: The Voice -- The Battle Rounds Thread -- Mondays (NBC)

The Line always look like they are terrified when they are singing, and I hate how much they look at each other, it's almost like they each need to reassure each other. I like Nichole, sad to see her go.

This will be the thread of record for the remainder of The Voice's current season

Mondays: 2 hour performances

Tuesdays: 1 hour results

With American Idol also on Wednesdays and Thursdays, this is going to be a really brutal schedule to keep up with as a viewer.

Re: The Voice -- The Live Performances Thread -- Mondays/Tuesdays (NBC)

-screwy- Was Cee-Lo drunk or high during these 2 hours?

Jesus Christ, he was acting really weird, especially with the goofy James Brown wig.

I have to admit, after seeing how really strange Christina looked in some of the Battle Round audition episodes, she actually looked really good tonight. Very radiant and she looked nice in the rehearsal footage too.

Not going to comment on all 12 people who performed tonight.

 Chris Mann was IMO the best of the night. Beautiful rendition of that song.

Jesse Campbell is one of my favorites to win this, but I thought his performance tonight was very lazy. He chose a boring and safe song and did nothing with it. Maybe his last high note kept it from flat out putting me to sleep.

Erin Willett also impressed me as well.

I like Jermaine Paul, but I didn't think Living on a Prayer was the right song for him. His voice sounded like it was going to crack several times. He doesn't have a strong enough Upper register like Bon Jovi to handle that song.

:thmbsdwn: I thought Naia Kete sucked. I don't know what Blake was smoking. X-Tina wasn't impressed either.

Not a fan of Moses Stone and his rapping/singing

I think Jordis Unga has potential, but her rendition of "Alone" sounded out of tune to me and again she did more screaming than actual singing.

Since 6 people are getting eliminated tomorrow, my picks are:

Naia
Ashley
Moses
Charlotte
Jordis
Lindsey

I agree with your assessments. I didn't much care for Jesse's performance, but when they recapped at the end it did stand out above some of the others.

The judges get to make some saves tomorrow as well, correct?

I thought 4 people get eliminated tonight because the judges save 1 each.

Xtina's bitchiness towards Adam is really annoying.

Re: The Voice -- The Live Performances Thread -- Mondays/Tuesdays (NBC)

Did anyone else find some of the performances needlessly theatrical? I think having a live band on stage is cool but some of the dancers were very distracting. The show is called The Voice, I think that's what the focus should be.

Re: The Voice -- The Live Performances Thread -- Mondays/Tuesdays (NBC)

Can't complain too much - I think Charlotte Sometimes was done over twice. I was surprised she was the bottom 3 - especially over the young country girl - and then to get booted.

I do like the pace they are moving at to neck down who is left.

movieking 04-04-12 06:24 AM

Re: The Voice -- The Live Performances Thread -- Mondays/Tuesdays (NBC)

Only for Rockstar INXS, I would have wanted Jordis booted. Not liking what she did on this show so far at all.

Haven't seen all of results episode last night, but from the performance one, Cee Lo was a mess. Definitely drunk or high. Even Carson seemed to know so it seemed that he asked Cee Lo what we thought less than the others.

But damn did she look great last night! Best I've seen her look in a long long time. I didn't recognize it was her at first, I thought "Who is the new blonde girl!?". Wish she would drop the lbs though.
