It is utterly hilarious how misleading that preview is.

A lot of people who haven't read the book are gonna go nuts at the ending of this episode, and I have a feeling it will serve to firmly hook those who are still on the fence.

Spoiler:
It ends with Lady's death, and I've noticed how many bazillion "OMG! Direwolves are SO cute!" comments there have been on Twitter following the premiere episode.

Nice poster.

I'm not sure this show is popular enough for a weekly thread. Maybe a season-long one?

BTW, in case you missed it, Game of Thrones was renewed for a 2nd season last week.

Good point, DJariya. Maybe we just need one thread for the whole series.

I recommend that we merge the three current threads. There's one in book talk too, might as well merge that as well.

Odds episode 2 reaches 400 comments?

That poster is cool, but why is it Ned sitting on the throne?

YOU WIN OR YOU DIE.

Obviously he wins.

You'll find that out later in the book. Oh, wait. I mean you won't find that out. I mean, maybe you'll find out and maybe you won't. Or the opposite of that. Or both. Nevermind, there is no later in the book. That shall not be discussed!

Not being familiar with the books, I just figured that the poster was representative of the title, although it wouldn't come as any shock to anyone to see Ned vying for or eventually sitting on a throne.

Still a neat poster. I always look forward to seeing HBO, Showtime, & Starz's advertising campaigns. Many of the magazine adverts are suitable for framing.

They made those posters for several of the main characters.

Don't be an asshole about it, not discussing the books is a fair request. If you want to discuss them then go to the book forum, we have one of those, too!

This. I bailed on the first episode thread since there was just too much chatter about the books, and while most of it is spoilerized, it just seemed inevitable something would be spoiled.

Yeah, it shouldn't be too hard to use spoiler tags. Even if someone asks a specific question.

Question, especially for those who may have some knowledge of tonight's episode:

Spoiler:
Will they touch more on how special and important the wolves are prior to Lady's death?

I ask because I am watching with my son who has not read the books and I don't know if I should fill him in on anything before we watch.

They are really nice. I actually just started working for my local cable company not too long ago and they have posters for us to take as we want. I picked up the one for this series that's in the first post (27X40? I think), I'd like to get it framed eventually if I enjoy the series enough (I think I will).

Nice to see Joffrey get his, but the queen is a real ****. I really enjoyed the scene between Jon Snow and the little girl. It out to be interesting to see how the remaining Starks handle the info Bryan gives em since neither of them can leave.

Is Khal just a title?

Yes, and his lady is the Khaleesi, a title which was used to refer to Daenerys in this episode.
