Hey! I think that if it's in the show and this thread is about the show and only people that watch the show should be in the thread about the show then anything from the show can be shown.

Just my opinion ;) I mean, it's not exactly a "random" thread that should be PG.

Just leave it up long enough so pinata can finish, then take it back down before the mods see.

Are you kidding...when reading the books all I thought is that Peter Dinkelage must be DYING for this to be made into a movie.

I still think of this show title to be "Game of Throbbin'"

So this dude must be some sort of internet meme I missed. Was he in some lame Star Trek series or something?

Interneting is hard!

Is it possible people read the books and envisioned someone they've actually seen in other mediums in their imagination without it necessarily being a "lame Star Trek series"?

Tyrion is a dwarf and, admittedly, our imaginations might naturally use one of the few we have stored for quick access.

Dinklage has a unique style and attitude. Perhaps Tyrion is written in such a way that an association is easy?

Wouldn't this technically be dwarfing?

Or imping?

He's perfect for the role and I knew who he was (granted I knew him from Elf)

Stop being rational and level-headed. You also need to fix your under-use of sarcasm in a response to a post that begs for it. It's like I don't even know who you are anymore.

I believe that's correct, although we may be giving it a bit too much credit.

Guess I better get on the stick and start re-reading the series. I always re-read the books just before a new one comes out and at GRRM's glacial writing pace it's been so long that I'm not even sure if I unpacked them after the last move five years ago.

As for the casting I've pretty much made my peace with all of the actors who've appeared so far but I'm still having a hard time with Lena Heady. When she shows up on screen I see her as the actress and not the character. I've liked her in other roles but her Cersei just isn't clicking for me.

And the Dothraki are completely ill-used in this screen adaptation but I suppose the budget only allowed for a few shaggy horses, some grass skirts, and a tube of body paint to go around.

I imagine it going like this:

AGENT: We have an offer for a fantasy TV series. You'd be playing a character called "The Imp."

DINKLAGE: Oh, right. I wonder what that's about.

AGENT: Actually you're going to be doing a lot of whoring around and naked women will be fawning over you in a lot of the scenes. Also, you're going to win an Emmy for being smarmy.

DINKLAGE: When do I leave for shooting again?

Think medieval Europe and Asia, except with a body of water roughly equivalent to the English Channel dividing them.

East, not west. It's right there in the opening credits! Also, the continents' names are Westeros and Essos, which kinda gives it away as to their respective locations to each other.
