The Chicago Code theme song performed by Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins. The link has the video.
It's also on FOX's Chicago Code page.

It's actually a catchy tune.

I liked last week's episode, but this one was a huge improvement. Enjoyed it much more than the Pilot; the voiceovers were used more effectively and with restraint, the episode felt tighter, and they managed having different things going on with all of the characters much better.
Gibbons seemed far more menacing this episode and showed greater potential as a villain. The way he turned Antonio's mother again Colvin was wonderfully done.
I also appreciated that they went less-obvious routes with the characters and the story. The shooting not being connected to Gibbons; the officer admitting he had just become disillusioned; that officer taking matters into his own hands; Colvin needing help from Gibbons. I also like the revelation that Isaac views the police as a powerful gang; that mindset will definitely allow for some interesting developments with the character in the future.
I really like Liam as well and liked the way they handled the scene in the warehouse.
Loved Wysocki there at the end, with his addendum to the prayer.

Huge improvement over last week. I agree with kstublen all the way around.

Awesome episode. Much better than the Pilot. I agree with pretty much everything that KStublen said in his post. The episode flowed so much better, especially with fewer voice-overs, which were used so much better here.
I'm liking Wysocki and Evers. They are still no Cooper and Sherman from Southland, but they have a very unique chemistry.
I really liked the score used during the ceremony honoring Antonio. I know Robert Duncan composes the score for this show, but I'm not sure if that was his piece.
That was pretty messed up for Alderman Gibbons to help turn Antonio's mother on Teresa. I assume he did that so Teresa would turn to him for help and he would then seek a favor from her.

for a show with not a lot of action, I sure love it! Must be the great story telling and acting. Most of the times, it feels like I'm watching a reality cop show on A&E rather than a fictional drama series.

I'm liking it okay, but shows like Southland, Homicide and The Shield have set high standards for serialized cop shows. This doesn't look like it will stand up. (Loved the church scene at the end, though).

Ugh. Couldn't possibly disagree more. I think she's absolutely horrendous.
Agree w/Deke--as a Chicago person (and a huge Shawn Ryan fan) I really wanted to like this one but just do not. I'll give it another shot, but so far it just ain't workin' for me...

Well, that didn't take long. That crime scene investigation in the beginning was filmed right outside of my old apartment on Hoyne. I remember the days they were camped out with all of the equipment. Kind of fun to see the final product.
Again though, not exactly a location where lots of murders occur. And I'm pretty sure in the previous episode, the superintendent and Antonio were fired on somewhere in the loop. Not sure how they ended up in WP

Yeah she still seems out of character - she doesn't seem to have the presence and authority to pull off the superintendent role. She's like a female Aceveda, without the depth so far.
While the voiceovers were a bit less intrusive... they should just cut back them back to one, maybe two an episode - there are other ways to get the info across.
I like the storyline except for the niece and her partner.

I agree...it does not add anything to the show at all. Maybe it will become more interesting as the season goes on. Looks like they are possibly going into the undercover unit which may add something more. Time will tell.

Wtf? This show is made by the man who created The Shield. Don't you think you should give it more than 2 episodes?

I agree with pretty much everythinng said so far. However, I seriously did not like how quickly the boss turned tail and ran straight to Gibbons. She's supposedly so hell bent against brining him down and she runs right into his hands -
The pacing on this show is great, it gets to the end and you don't think it's the end. It feels like they're about to go into another small segment. I guess they want to leave a lingering impression of the city itself.

She didn't really have any other option. It was either ask Gibbons for help or Antonio's mom wouldn't receive any of the benefits. Given how close she was with Antonio and how she blamed herself, I am not surprised she asked him for help.

If you can't swear, you're better off not saying anything instead of using words like that.
