Liked what I saw although I fell asleep during the 2nd half of the show so I will pick up the rest of it when it airs again or online.

I noticed Chicago in there too, so I think they're trying to incorporate many big cities into one, which would be cool

There really isn't anything new to add to the superhero genre from this show, but the infusion of humor saves it for me.
I'll probably check out next weeks' episode.

Any noticeable differences between the first and second hours? Those episodes were filmed several months apart.
Anyway, I'll likely catch the encore airing tonight (will give it the benefit of the doubt).

Keith David was the best part of the show for me. I laughed at both the smoke bomb "escape" and the "death" scene. I was definitely losing interest about halfway into the second episode, so I don't know if it will hold my attention on a weekly basis, but it may be better in one-hour intervals (like "Human Target").

Better than I thought it would be. The promos highlighting some of the characters came off as so cheesy/campy, but they hit a decent tone balance somewhere between silly fun and 'Dark Knight'. I'm not sure this show will hold up in the long run... I can see it either getting repetitive and I can also see the writers bringing in something truly ludicrous to keep it fresh if it starts to get dull.

It didn't bring much new to the genre, but they hit all the marks pretty well, I thought. It had a nice look to it, and a decent score. I'll keep watching.

I loved the score. It had a very grand-super hero feel to it. It was composed by Bear McCreary, who did the score on The Walking Dead, Caprica, Battlestar Galactica and also worked on season 1 of Human Target.

Episode 1 was filmed around March-April of 2010 to get it ready for the May upfronts. I noticed they re-shot alot of scenes that were featured in that early trailer. I believe episode 2 was filmed around November-December. So yeah there was a huge gap, but I couldn't tell anything different.

I found Chris Gore's Twitter comment pretty spot on/hilarious:
They should re-title The Cape: Sorry-this-isn't-a-Batman-TV-series-but-here's-The-Cape-for-you-to-watch. #honesty #thecape

The Cape did okay. Not bad, not awesome though.
8.4M viewers and 2.6 in the 18-49 demos.

Loved it. Loved the hell out of it.
They did a great job of making this seem like a comic book come to life - the characters, cinematography, score, costumes/makeup. Vinnie Jones and Keith David were nice bit of casting. I also liked the tone they found - a good mix of humor and drama.
Just a fun show all around.

Yikes. That was pretty bad. I felt like I was watching a cliffnotes version of the show. They tried to fit way too much into the pilot and in the end ruined any sense of character development. Hopefully someone can get a good superhero show on the air, but I have a feeling shows like this and No Ordinary Family are going to kill the demand for them.

but hey, cheesy stuff like that is what makes shows like this sort of fun in the first place really.. Like when the bad guy yells.. "I'm going to find out who you are......" while looking the guy who has been plastered all over the news and set up by him in the first place straight the face with only a hoody as a disguise...

I enjoyed it OK, though I thought the first half seemed very rushed, like they left out a bunch of scenes, to try and fit it in an hour. Especially his first outing and sudden collaboration with Summer Glau was a bit too fast.
The bad guys, including the circus stuff, was a bit too comic-bookish for me, given that they seemed to sell the show as more realistic outside of those scenes. In other words, it's a bit uneven, but I'll stick with it for another show or two to see how it goes.

Giving it a shot tonight... I figure it should entertain me enough since nothing else is on right now.

Amazed at how lame and cheesy this show is, and yet so many people here seemed to like it. I'm still trying to get through the second hour, but I think I'm just going to bail now, before it's canceled.

flashburn, go ahead... bail. I did. Why force yourself to watch something you don't enjoy? Watch the stuff you enjoy. I suspect there are people like me who don't like The Cape but don't want to threadcrap for those who do.
