On my dvr it was saying this episode is TV-MA, there is no way that could be true.

I thought the Dean story was good, and it makes sense, in this world, that Death would be able to go in the cage and get the soul.

I think this episode would have worked better if they had cut out some of the Sam and Bobby cat and mouse and given the time to develop the Dean story, specifically him being pushed to the point of taking off the ring. The way it worked out he jumped to taking it off pretty quickly after things went south.

I liked it. Thought it was paced perfectly and I like how they showed just how skilled and alert the Bobby character really is - it's something this show does well (fleshing out the side characters strong points).

Why the hell do we have to wait until 1/28 for the next one though??

Good episode, but I was surprised that they didn't instead title it "Death Takes a Holiday" after the movie in which Death takes time off from his work, so I looked up the title "Appointment in Samarra" and that one makes sense for this episode too:

...because that was already the title of an episode a couple seasons back.
