Re: Dexter -- "In the Beginning" -- 11/28/10

I hope there's nothing going on with the Nanny - at the very least she shouldn't be a baddy. It would be one more coincidence in a show already packed with too many of them. Can't there be a character on this show who isn't evil, isn't a victim, and isn't involved in any of the cases? Can't she just be a regular Nanny who doesn't play a major role in anything?

I can't wait for Robocop to tell Dexter next episode, "Dead or alive, you're coming with me."

Re: Dexter -- "In the Beginning" -- 11/28/10

Jordan doesn't like women touching him. He's fine with shaking hands with guys, but seemed to flinch when Emily went up to touch him.

As much of a wreck Emily seems to be, I don't see her as the "ring-leader" - maybe she is "special" to Jordan for allowing him and his buddies do what they had with her, and he wears her vial of blood as a reminder of whatever happened that day to change all of them.

But it will be interesting to find out what the full story is on why those guys did what they did, and how it all started.

I think Lumen will end up dying by season's end. I don't see her becoming some sort of "side-kick" with Dexter as they go about ridding Miami of evil serial killers in future seasons. They need to bring Dexter back to how he was in Season 1 - the lone killer, into his own thing. Lumen seems to be around to help him find his way again after what happened with Rita - being married, having a kid, and then her death.

I don't think Deb knows about Dexter. I think Quinn will find out after going thru Liddy's evidence, but he may keep it all on the down-low because of how he feels for Deb. And then will take out Liddy to prevent him from saying anything.

It seems like they are setting up the vigilante perspective for Lumen, and I'm starting to think less that she'll die and more that she'll resolve this and move on. With Deb finding out who she is and what shes done.

Here's a season spoiler alert I found on a TV Guide website. See if you can figure it out:

Spoiler:
In the season's penultimate episode, there are not one, but two deaths! And not one, but two kidnappings! What's happening to whom? Here are your hints: There are four separate victims, two male and two female. One death you'll cheer, and one will make you cringe. As for the kidnappings, let's just say both victims prove to be easy prey for their captors.

Maybe you should spoiler that. I mean, you even used the word spoiler in your description of what you were about to post.

Didn't think I needed it since this thread pretty much gives away what is going on in the show anyway!

Scott Grimes looked familiar, so I checked out his IMDB page. It turns out I probably know him from "Band of Brothers", but I had no idea he was the voice of Steve on "American Dad".

^ I remember him most from Critters. Anyway, good episode this week. The second half of this season really picked up (got off to a rather sluggish start).

If this is true, then
Spoiler:
the nanny probably is Lila's mother and does kidnap Harrison. Robocop has to be one that gets killed. Lumen is the other one that gets kidnapped? Who's the woman getting killed that makes you cringe?

I was just assuming that

Spoiler:
Harrison gets kidnapped after they kill the nanny (Kidnapping 1, Death 1), Lumen gets taken (Kidnapping 2), and Robocop bites the bullet (Death 2).

but yeah, find out in a few days.

if you read that, it's because everyone's contract is up at the end of season 6, and probably due hefty raises, so they will have to renegotiate.

I'm not too surprised.

Honestly I'm hoping this season's finale sets up the end game. This is a show that I can't see going on for many more seasons. I love this show, but...

- they won't be able to top Trinity or the Ice Truck killer if they introduce another serial killer.
- most of the secondary characters are far too annoying or cartoonish.
- where else is left to go w/ this concept??

Ooooh ooooh Deb killing people and hiding it as a vigilante but evidence coming out and Dexter taking the fall for it to protect her

Or Deb finding about one of Dexters kills and somehow protecting him and investigating him without him knowing
