He's not taking the risks he used to. Which is weird, since actually owning his own show now and being on a cable station should afford him that opportunity more than it did back at NBC.

I think one thing to keep in mind though is that he's on considerably earlier than he ever has been before too. About half an hour earlier than The Tonight Show slot and an hour and a half earlier than Late Night was. I think going later would allow him to do more, but I really don't think he's bad. I think it's more the new skits he's doing aren't as memorable as old ones. It's a shame NBC won't let him have the rights to his old characters and bits.

Actually I like this show a lot, the monologue jokes are bad, but Conan seems more "open" and relaxed now. The interaction with the audience members is better, Andy is great; I think this show is an improvment over his other ones.

I still DVR it every night and watch 2-3 in a day. I enjoy it for the most part and just fast forward if/when the monologue gets annoying.

Same here, the monologue can get boring but the other stuff on the show is pretty entertaining.

I personally like the Ted Turner skits.

I do think he's not as edgy as he was on the Late Show, but that's also because he's in a different situation where ratings matter. Nobody gave a shit about the Late Show ratings.

ok, point taken, but the comedy that they've been doing (specifically the sketch stuff) is tame compared to vomiting kermit, the coked up warewolf, cameltoe annie, preparation h raymond, etc..

Beardpocalypse was pretty funny. Will Farrel was in rare form. Weird to see Conan without a beard after seeing him with one for a little while.

I was bummed out that Reese Witherspoon didn't join it a couple weeks ago.

I would have preferred Conan keeping the beard, and I'll admit the actual shaving bit was really funny. The videos leading up to it, however, were awful. Not. Funny. On top of that, I guess I just really have a problem with the whole ginger / ginj stuff; that really is hate speech and I'm surprised / disappointed Conan doesn't see it that way and lets it be said on his show.

Someday, perhaps someone different than you will choose a word to describe how you look and encourage people to identify you by it with pejorative intentionality and then laugh when you say that you define it as hate speech, so you can understand. Then again, perhaps not.
