i got through to DirecTV and they said they had no idea what i was talking about, but noted my account and i said that if it goes so do i.

It's not DirecTV's fault. Comcast owns G4 and demands more money. Same thing happened with Comcast owned Versus last year.

Only thing I watch on G4 is Ninja Warrior and I can get those elsewhere if need be.

I haven't had fox in a week and a half, thankfully I d/l most of my shows, but I just got a 7.1 system and am looking to have the best situation, so whatevs. G4 was techtv, and techtv was something I watched when I had a job at Directv when I watched tv for half my shift+..

it was towards the beginning (at least first half hour). think during a commercial break (which is why you may have missed it) Kevin did a taped spot about it all. just call the number i posted and you will find out a little more.

I'm an old man (31), so I want G4 to die a cold, hard death so that TechTV can come back.

I really enjoy Attack of the Show. I DVR it every night, and usually watch it (albeit fast-forwarded so it takes only about 20 minutes) before I go to bed. I'll miss it.

Most of their content is on their website anyways - and you can also watch their shows through TVersity.

there is a plus side though...i called up and just got a free hd dvr box and service for a year. so there's that.

they also said the negotiations were pretty much dead and weren't pursuing.

Comcast did not want Directv subscribers to have access to the channel anymore. Why give your competitor a property that draws subscribers away? The only hope would be for the FCC to step in and do something. We are going to be seeing more and more of this as television providers increasingly own the content.

Ah, the growing Comcast monopoly. Sucks for you guys who still watch it, but I was a TechTV loyalist and loathe them.

i liked X-Play and AotS was always a fave, occasionally watched Cops and they sometimes had a good late night movie. oh well.

i'll gladly trade free DVR (something that i never had) for a channel that i really only watched 2 shows from.
