Excellent news about the pick-up. Here's something different, vote for Chuck to grace the cover of TV Guide.

I hate to be negative on this show, since I've enjoyed it so much, but has anybody noticed "dumb" music creeping in? It usually accompanies a Chuck scene where he's saying something off kilter. The problem - in part - is that the music starts before the scene fully develops so you know where it's going.

The other part to this is Chuck saying such things that he normally wouldn't. Before he might try and make a joke that didn't work out, but he'd realize it and go very deadpan serious look on his face, of course he'd then try and segway into something else. An old example was when John Larroquette tried to get them to kiss. Chuck came up with the burrito excuse, but then when pushed to shove it turned serious. Now he saying/alludes to things such as him and Sarah getting it on in the service closet.

Maybe it's nothing, but it comes off to me as very out of character when put in contrast to scene fountain/courtyard scenes.

new writers? They have no budget, maybe they're getting ideas from the counterperson at McDonalds when they stop for lunch?

Darn, lowest rated episode of the season according to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Chuck_episodes
:(
We need better ratings for a S5...why have the ratings dipped? I still very much like the episodes..

the charm has worn off... it's inevitable....

I still like the show very much, but I'd be OK with this being the final season, and having the creative staff know it so we get a satisfying ending to the show.

I agree. I think S2 may have been the best season (Top 5 at any rate) of a show I've seen. However, S3 took a serious step backwards even if there were a variety of reasons for that. I do appreciate the writers pushing the characters to new places each season. Yet for some reason this season feels very off. The back half of S3 at least felt fun a fresh, but S4 to date has been a major letdown.

I guess I'm in the minority, I found S3 to be the best; and have quite likes S4 so far....

I agree about Season 2 being the high point, but by the same token, I'm enjoying this season just fine.

The Casey-Morgan bits in this one were priceless. When Morgan slapped Casey and claimed it was like hitting a car was hilarious and following it up with his confession was a riot.

I do think we need more of the Buy More Chuck in action.

Warner Bros. has made so many concessions with NBC to keep this show on the air. The lowered the budget for each episode and even lowered the licensing fee. If anything, the ratings have stayed consistent (5-6M viewers a week) If anything, I'm glad to see a studio work hard with the network and make alot of adjustments to keep the show going. Most studios wouldn't.

Seeing the promos for this weeks' Chuck finds his Mom episode I can only assume they're getting to the end. He wanted to be a spy and got it, he wanted to be with Sarah and is, found his dad, found out why Bryce and Jill both betrayed him and now is finding his mother. They aren't leaving much for fifth season to work with.

My favorites were the second half of season 2. Just rewatched the first three seasons and they embody the shows roots. Great comedy, good stories and Chuck being Chuck.
