I want to watch this because I like Amanda Tapping from her days at SG-1 and SG-A. Is this show heavily serialized? I can watch season 1 and 2 on Netflix to catch up, but if I were to watch Kali parts 1 and 2 from last season, would that be good enough to start right now?

The show is very serialized. I'd catch up on both seasons first before jumping in. Just DVR this season to have on hand when you catch up.
That being said, season one started out with a bang, fell into a lull and finished VERY strong. Season two failed to capitalize on that at all and was just a general mess, IMO. (kinda reminiscent of 4400) I'm hoping Season 3 can right this sinking ship.
Lastly, is that a season 3 cast photo, or did you just dig up whatever? I only ask since you mentioned you don't watch, there is a big cast surprise/spoiler (?) of sorts in that shot.

Good start to the season. Loved Helen kicking the guard's ass and Forsythe's exasperated "Why do I even pay these guys?" response.

This whole 3 part Kali subject bored me, I'm glad its over.
Was it just me, or did the CGI looks MUCH better this season? I thought all the stuff on the ships looked pretty darned good.
Although, I must say, the lizard guy with the puff'd out neck was just so fucking ridiculous looking, bad CGI or not.
