Also, from what I've read, he's pretty active on the convention circuit. Even if you ignore who "owes" who what you would think he would do it just so he doesn't keep getting asked why he didn't for the rest of his life.

Is Kristin Kreuk coming back for the series finale?

It should be fun if she does, considering the fate of her character in Season 8's "Power".

I'm not saying your interpretation of what you're reading is wrong, just don't know if I disagree with the general argument.

You don't have to agree with the argument to see it is my point.

I would disagree as you could have just as easily watched something else all those years.

I get that you didn't literally put money in the man's pocket, but that doesn't mean that loyalty of the cultish group of people who faithfully watched the show for all these years didn't give him a pretty nice livelihood for more than a few years, because without them, the show is canceled pretty quickly.

In the end he sure doesn't "owe" anyone, anything, but it would be a nice gesture for the small group of fans who have kept the show on the air all these years - including the ones that he got paid for.
I didn't think it needed to be explained. I guess I was wrong. You also left out raises. Isn't Smallville the #1 show on CW? You know all those cats get paid handsomely. Speaking of, can a show that is #1 on the network really be considered cultish?

Who's whining? I think we've all been clear that we agree that Rosenbaum doesn't owe anyone anything. It would just be a cool thing for the fans that supported them over the years.

That is quite possibly the best reason to do it.

Re: Smallville Casting Bombshell

Smallville is typically 2nd in ratings on the CW, as The Vampire Diaries brings in about 10% more in ratings, and on Thursday night, which is a more competitive night.

Fair enough but up until then wasn't Smallville top dog?

Re: Smallville Casting Bombshell

America's Next Top Model used to also bring in a lot of viewers (relatively speaking), at its peak, about a 5 share, these days, probably 2.5-3.0 share, which would tip it close to The Vampire Diaries' ratings. But in the first 5-6 years, Smallville was always running in the top 3 shows on the WB/CW.

I don't even watch this show... so I'm not sure why I clicked on this thread. I also saw the news about the actor who plays Lex not returning and even I, as a non-fan, am insulted... on behalf of fans everywhere.

The producers have said she definitely won't be back. She may not be needed, but the Clark/Lana relationship was a huge focus of the first seven years of the show, for better or worse. I really wanted Lana to come back "cured" and have Clark tell her to her face that Lois is the one he wants to be with. I mean, it's not like there weren't unresolved feelings between them - he was on the verge of tears when they were so tragically ripped apart.

That relationship only ended because of the writer's stupid deux ex machia. It was a terrible cop-out of a resolution.

"I’m simply doing it for all of the fans out there who made Smallville the great success it is. I appreciate all of their passion, their relentlessness, and even their threats. Ha ha.”"

That's like asking "Can the tallest player on the little people basketball team really be called short?"

Yes he can my friend. Yes he can.

The actor continues, “I can’t wait to hug the old crew back in Vancouver one last time and see all of my old friends once again. Oh, and for Lex to become the bad-ass he’s destined to be.”

Re: Smallville Casting Bombshell

Glad to hear it. Funny how after a day of reporting he would not be back, that the next day the story changed? Even Major magazines like Entertainment Weekly were reporting he wasn't coming back.

He doesn't owe us anything, but he should do it because we supported him in the past.

Amazing application of yenta-logic.

He should do it because he wants to. Not out of some sense of obligation. Maybe there was a point where he was like Boreanaz and moved on from the character.

So one day he's out and the next he's in? I wonder what will be reported tomorrow.

Re: Smallville Casting Bombshell

So...now that Lex is coming back, what do you do with all those clones...?

Spoiler:
Fans of The CW's ten-year anchor "Smallville" breathed a sigh of relief last week when it was finally officially confirmed that former series co-star Michael Rosenbaum would return one last time to play Lex Luthor in the May 13 series finale. Now, word is out that the young Luthor clone that's been factoring in to the current Season 10 story line will appear again as a much different DC Comics character...

...Connor "Superboy" Kent. TV Line revealed that the teen superhero will appear as played by actor Lucas Gabreel. No specific episode was confirmed for the character's debut, but show executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders said "Conner’s journey is manipulated by a master...Luckily, someone knows more about Conner’s life than he does. But he should be wary of strangers bearing gifts.”
