Yes, awesome; incredible technology and somehow very depressing... |
Re: At the Movies is Back!
Even though I agree that a mid-20's guy with no experience is a bad idea...Ebert himself started writing for the Sun-Times at 25.

Re: At the Movies is Back!
One dark horse candidate believed to be under consideration is a young male in his mid-20s with little or no experience as a movie critic or as a TV talent. |

Re: At the Movies is Back!
Hmmm, "Vishnevetsky and Lemire" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue like 'Siskel and Ebert' did.

Re: At the Movies is Back!
How about "At the Movies with Iggy and Chris"
|
Re: At the Movies is Back!
I'm willing to give Iggy a chance. He already seems to have more credibility than Ben Lyons.

Although I have enough faith in Ebert that if he did that, he would pick someone who was actually worthy of the spot and not another Ben Lyons.
Here's his blog. |
Re: At the Movies is Back!
is this airing anytime soon and accessible by most?
|
Re: At the Movies is Back!
^It debuts Jan. 21 on PBS. They say it's airing on "48 of the top 50" markets, but I haven't seen any specifics. You'll need to check your local station.

I'll have to remind myself to get the DVR ready.

I hope his comment of 'Adding more stations every day' is accurate, otherwise I won't be seeing it. |
Re: At the Movies is Back!
Nothing in Oregon either.
|
Re: At the Movies is Back!
That list is definitely outdated. I tweeted my local PBS affiliate and they linked me to their site showing a string of upcoming airings for the show in Portland.
The only catch is, they start airing them Feb. 5, but look like they might play catchup the first week with airings a day or two apart. |
Re: At the Movies is Back!
Anybody else see this yet?
It seems a bit awkward so far, but it was amusing that Iggy liked every movie (including The Green Hornet!) while Christy hated every movie. Hopefully their chemistry improves. I liked the addition of a classic movie tribute to The Third Man and the guest audio review from Werner Herzog for "My Dog Tulip". My local PBS channel is airing this at 10 am on Saturdays. Not exactly convenient, but that's what DVRs are for. |
Re: At the Movies is Back!
I just watched this -- "I completely disagree!" got old quickly.
