Good to hear. Guess this means it's time for me to start renting the first however many seasons of Mad Men there have been. I've only seen Season 1 so far...

^ I plan on simply waiting until they show up on demand or they air marathons. Or don't they do that?

If you have streaming Netflix, they're all on there.

Now I just have to wait until January (that's when Mad Men is back, right?) to actually watch it for something.

Re: DirecTV and AMC HD

I had never been more excited to see an infomercial in glorious HD than I was this morning when I turned it on at 5:30.

Already reset my Breaking Bad season pass, can't wait to do the same for the rest of the shows as they return in the next several months.

Likely not then - not my cup of tea. Only western (movie or tv) I ever cared for was Deadwood.

Really Red? Not even Unforgiven, Open Range or the new True Grit?

Re: DirecTV and AMC HD

Thought I'd check out the HD AMC. They do it like everybody else and crop and chop to fit the screen. Oh well.. at least Mad Men, Breaking Bad and others will be shown correctly.

What a waste.

eh, if it was shot in 1:85 your good. Also, some times (terminator 2 and older titles) do get shown in 2:35

Re: DirecTV and AMC HD

It was King Arthur. Shot in 2:35. I see the Sons of Katie Elder is on now and looks like its OAR.

I hate this will it or won't it be correct?

And for those of you wondering why it bothers me, one thing I noticed when an action film is cropped and chopped for HD certain action scenes fill the screen and move so fast I kinda get a little dizzy but not quite. I just know something is wrong.
