I tried to watch it but I didn't care for it.

The main appeal of Psych to me is the timing between Shawn and Gus. They get a lot of funny lines, but what makes the show is the way the actors sell them.
All this talk of Psych makes me worry about the next question.

Yeah, I found the lead guy smarmy and unlikeable and his friend to be uptight and humorless.

Both shows were partially set in the past. The wording of the question also qualifies the American version of Life on Mars.

Question 14: R: Name a cop show that, at the time of its original airing, was set at least partially in the past.

I'm pretty sure Dragnet is wrong. As for Wild WIld West, West and Gordon were Secret Service agents in charge of protecting President Grant. Does that count as "cops?"

I am going to state right now that, if you named a show with a remake, I am going to assume you meant the original version.

Where the hell were you people when I needed you on the other questions? Now I really think you're wrong.
Do you think it aired between 1869 and 1877?
