I tried to watch it but I didn't care for it.

It's very much a character-driven show, and if you don't care much for the characters, or know them well and understand their relationships and interactions, then it won't appeal to you.

Re: The Return of TV Sheep: Cop Shows!

The main appeal of Psych to me is the timing between Shawn and Gus. They get a lot of funny lines, but what makes the show is the way the actors sell them.

All this talk of Psych makes me worry about the next question.

Yeah, I found the lead guy smarmy and unlikeable and his friend to be uptight and humorless.

I've been here all along, and I also need to point out that Groucho's spoiler for the ending of the British version of Life on Mars is incorrect. Anyone that saw the series finale of Ashes to Ashes would know this.

Both shows were partially set in the past. The wording of the question also qualifies the American version of Life on Mars.

I thought about using Life on Mars, but it's not my answer.

Question 14: R: Name a cop show that, at the time of its original airing, was set at least partially in the past.

This next answer, I can't tell if it's brilliantly correct or idioticly wrong.

bootsy: COPS

I'm pretty sure Dragnet is wrong. As for Wild WIld West, West and Gordon were Secret Service agents in charge of protecting President Grant. Does that count as "cops?"

COPS has to be wrong. By the time it airs it's in the past, but it's taped live (i.e. set in the present).

I would count it correct as to being a cop show. I don't know if it was ever set in the past though.

Idiotically wrong. COPS was set in the year 2020. Cops is set in the present day.

Do you think it aired between 1869 and 1877?

I am going to state right now that, if you named a show with a remake, I am going to assume you meant the original version.
