The Return of TV Sheep: Cop Shows!
- Rules
- The object of the game is to out-think everyone by picking answers to questions that are the most common (Sheep) or least common (Reverse Sheep), but still correct.
- Example Sheep question: "Name a president of the United States." A good answer might be Lincoln and a bad answer might be the socialist.
- Example Reverse Sheep question: "Name a brand of personal computer, past or present". Apple might be a bad answer, but Radio Shack might be a good answer. (Unless everyone is trying to go as obscure as possible).
- Sheep scores are tallied as negative numbers. Reverse Sheep scores are tallied as positive numbers. The lowest score wins.
- The answers to each question are tallied up. Wrong answers in Reverse Sheep are scored two points above the most common answer. This penalty is multiplied by the Lightning Round Multiplier. Wrong answers in Sheep are not penalized.
- NEW! There are no Lightning Rounds in this game. Instead, each player is given five ×2 multipliers to use. Doing so is called "sweeps week". You may use them any way you see fit- use one multiplier a question, double them up, or use all five on one question. Go nuts! Experiment!
- To use your "sweeps week" multiplier, simply put {sw} AFTER your answer. To use more than one, simply add additional {sw}. For example, if you want to use three on one question, you would put "{sw}{sw}{sw}" after your answer.
- NEW! There is a Unique Bonus for Reverse Sheep Unique Answers. This is calculated based on the most common answer +2. Basically, it's the reverse of wrong answer scoring.
- You may not cheat by using Google, Wikipedia, TV.com, etc. Use only what's in your head.
- Please send in your answers to me via PM. Place only one answer per line, without numbers or the question itself. Those who do not do this will be penalized 10 points right off the bat.
- For your convenience, I've made a Google Docs spreadsheet where you can prepare your answers. When finished, just select the column of answers and send that in as text via PM.
- The Borg are not a species.
- Note: For the purposes of this game, Reverse Sheep answers will be determined to be correct or incorrect based on my whims. I can of course be swayed by evidence, argument, etc. However, a better way to curry favor is by giving me gifts. A particular favorite is chocolate hobnobs (Only 3 left in stock! Order soon!). PM me for my address.
- Sheep questions are marked by an S:, Reverse Sheep questions are marked by an R:.
- I would like to get at least 20 players. Under no circumstances will I take more than 30 (this excludes your game runner, of course). People that have run a game in the past or suggested questions to me that I have used have a guaranteed spot and will not count towards the cap of 30.
- Special thanks goes out to The Bus for providing the formatting, rules, etc. for me to steal.
- Additional special thanks goes to Count Dooku for providing me with questions suggestions, some of which I have used here.
- The game will begin sometime next week.
- The Questions
- S: Name a cop show that began and ended its original run during the 1970s.
- S: TV's all-time most iconic police detective is...
- R: Name a cop show produced primarily for US television that was not set in New York City, Baltimore or California.

- R: California has traditionally been a popular place to set TV shows. Name a cop show set there.

- R: Name a cop show that, at the time of its original airing, was set at least partially in the past.

Good luck!

Thanks for doing another sheep game Tracer Bullet!
Question, is "cop show" a general show for procedural/detective/cop shows or just shows with police officers?

For question #13, does it have to be a detective who is portrayed to be from Britain or one who is on a British TV show?

Unfortunately (for me) I won't be on vacation next week to enjoy the reveal, but I will submit my answers to get in the mix.
I have a feeling that people's ages are really going to come into play with this game. Good Luck!

Answers sent. I did have a question about #14, but I will risk it and go with what I sent.
This is a very good set of questions. I particularly like #2 & #9. I think #1 is going to screw me (as many of the sheep questions will). I imagine we will have very few "correct" answers to that one.
