Re: The Return of TV Sheep: Cop Shows!

I am really bummed that I could have gone with Blue's Room (a spin off of Blue's Clues) and Conviction for the two non-cop show questions.

Well never seeing The Wire really cost me. Hopefully Tracer Bullet can do some more questions tonight.

Wikipedia doesn't state who created 'Paris'.
IMDB credits Bochco.

Compelling evidence?

It would've been pretty bad to have to google a show and not read that it wasn't a cop show.

Yeah, the extent of my knowledge of "The Wire" is that clip where the two detectives just keep saying "fuck" hence my answer "dude who says it a lot"

The rule didn't specify anything about it needing to be a cop show, so it's a perfectly valid answer. And I'm not sure if it's worse to Google it and not read that it wasn't a cop show or to have watched it and not realized that it wasn't a cop show.

Please send in your answers to me via PM. Place only one answer per line, without numbers or the question itself. Those who do not do this will be penalized 10 points right off the bat.
I don't think that rule is a warning against double-spacing. No line had more than one answer on it.

The space between those lines is irrelevant.

Yes, yes. The space between is important.

Would you prefer it if he just counted the first 15 lines?

Yeah, sorry, it matters. I have to take the spaces out so you get 10 points.

Sorry I couldn't get to answer more questions tonight. We'll start up again tomorrow.

I agree with starting tomorrow cause I just ate a bunch of pschyadelics that I'm pretty sure would have left me without the capability to defend my answers.

i know it's my answer, but this is bullshit. it's a show that's being produced now, that's been ordered as a series. it never said the show had to air. if you are going to allow some of those Bochco/Wolf series that are questionable, like the LO:TBJ, Blue Bloods should be allowd.

Seeing that rule trickery is part of this game - since "series" in Q5 is not constrained to cop show even though it's in the game title, why is "series" in Q6 constrained to TV? (Blue Bloods appears to be a valid book series.)

Deftones goes from -11 to 11 points.

yet again, fucking bullshit. it's a series that has been ordered. if you are going to go all semantic with other questions, lauding people who are smart by paying attention to detail, this should be no different than getting credit for my answer. there is nothing in any rules that said the show had to have aired for it to be considered as an answer.

that's not really a good argument, since this is solely based on TV shows. but i will agree, it's totally lame to give credit for people who found a "loophole" in one rule and are praised, yet someone else finds the exact same of creative answer and is shot down.

My point was, where in the question or the rules does it state this is solely based on TV shows. Nowhere. (The rules even have non-TV sample questions.) That sounds like an assumption you are making just like people were assuming cop show for Q5. People took great delight earlier in the thread about the EXACT WORDING of the question and discounting the IMPLICATION of cop shows from the game title. Yet the implication of TV shows is allowed to stand.

Half (or more) of the fun of sheep games is figuring out which loopholes will be allowed, either by the spirit or the wording of the questions, and which will be denied. I'm still disputing the assertion that the Women's World Cups didn't count in the Sports Sheep question "Name a country that has hosted or has been officially selected to host a FIFA World Cup," and that game was over a year ago.

Hey, I'm not saying I agree with the ruling. I'm just asking if you would have preferred another treatment.
