I tend to think it got too complicated as well. However, if someone is willing to put the time in to run one of these games and sticks in wolves, gorillas, etc. then I'm ok with it. I figure if it's confusing to me, it is for everyone else and the chaos that typically develops is entertaining.

Make is as complicated as you want. The controversies are frequently better than the game.
