Re: Your Favorite HBO Series?
I picked the Sopranos, of course. Six Feet Under, Curb and Larry Sanders are right up there as well.
Speaking of old HBO series... Anyone remember a show from 1984 called The Investigators?
My uncle taped a couple of episodes for me and I remember it being pretty funny. Sort of a spoof of 60 Minutes. For example, a story about a cut-rate mortuary that cremated bodies on a backyard BBQ grill or the catholic church trying to bring in new members by making a music video to promote themselves. I remember Paul Riser doing a report about how time-released aspirin were the smartest pills ever made - "not only do they know where to show up, they pace themselves". Bill Kirchenbauer would play the character Angry Arnie and basically rant about how much he hated all of the stupid people out there and how he got even with them.
The weird thing is, I've searched everywhere and can find almost nothing about the show. You can find information about almost any obscure tv show or movie out there but it seems as if this show fell into a black hole. Nothing on YouTube, IMDB or TV.com. It doesn't even show up in the actor's or Director's credits on IMDB or TV.com.
All I've ever been able to find, to prove I didn't dream it, was this on a site called film.com....

Re: Your Favorite HBO Series?
This is a tough question. It's really hard because The Wire, Oz and The Larry Sanders Show are all brilliant and TV you have to see if you like TV shows.
I would have to give my vote to The Wire. It's the best show I've ever seen.

The Wire for sure, complete television. I'm rewatching the series right now, and it's wonderful to watch.
2nd for me is Big Love
then Rome
then Six Feet Under It's lower than Rome as there were a couple of characters and story lines I really hated.
