I imagine the Cornholio episode is the previewed one in which Beavis is mistaken for the Messiah. But, each "episode" is really 2 episodes, so are those just the first of each pair?

Not sure, they have their normal 30min block at 10 and another at 11. My DVR set to record both even though I have my setting at record "first run only"

Re: Beavis And Butt-Head to return to MTV

For those that didn't watch yet, both episodes were 30 minute solo episodes. They did a few of these in the old days (Way Down Mexico Way, No Laughing, Meet God, etc.) so it was nice to see the long form back. Drones was probably padded a bit too much, as it became repetitive, but Holy Cornholio was awesome, and really needed the double length.

We got music videos, Teen Mom and Jersey Shore this week as well, so a decent mix. The teen mom stuff was the best, as they ripped on a teen mom getting breast implants.

Finally a rant. This has nothing to do with the show itself, but I had to record the 1:30AM and 2AM showings due to conflicts. By this point, MTV was 7 full minutes behind schedule. I really don't get how they can fall that far behind. Luckily I was recording Good Vibes as well, and was able to pad that by 15 minutes to make sure I get it all. I've had problems with other MTV shows like Death Valley, but not 7 minutes.

The moral of the story is that when it comes to MTV, make sure you pad your recordings.

I thought Drones was really funny, though I agree with TheKing that it started to go on a bit too long. The Army guy cracked me up every time he would correct the teacher. Holy Cornholio was great as well. I can't believe how happy I am to have this show back and how little it has changed since it was first on. And I mean that in a good way.

I made the mistake of letting my boys watch last night and since there's no school today I've been treated to non-stop rumps shaking in my face while they belt out "It's So Cold in the D." Thanks a lot B&B.

MTV has been doing that for years now, they hate DVR viewers. It's funny, they get so far behind schedule sometimes they will have a voiceover announcing something about skipping ahead into a program to catch up.

The Cornholio episode had some great lines.

They can't be fans of normal viewers either then. If I'm flipping channels and I see that Beavis and Butt-Head is supposed to be on, but I'm getting some jackass on stage talking about youtube nutshot videos, I'm gonna keep flipping. I'm not gonna watch 7 minutes of crap.

I guess at 1:30AM they figure that most of their viewers are too stoned to care.

Didn't like the Drones ep and haven't watch Cornholio yet. I'm gonna try and catch a replay so I can get the full ep. You suck MTV!

I thought both of those episodes ran a little too long for my taste.

Re: Beavis And Butt-Head to return to MTV

It really is almost impossible to record this. I have to start the recording at least 10 min early and run it an hour late, which sucks when I have a conflict as most of my recording is done late at night.

Re: Beavis And Butt-Head to return to MTV

I haven't really watched MTV since the late '90s, maybe a little in the very early 2000s, and the scheduling thing was a problem even then. It wasn't as big of a deal back then because you had a whole lot more channel surfers and not as many DVRs. But at this point, it's really absurd. I don't understand how a network can get away with having such poor time management.

I thought that "So Cold in the D" was a forgotten gem from the '80s by the crappy video quality and banging beats but then found out that it was made not too long ago. Terrible!

In "Drones", I loved Beavis being surprised that Daria didn't kill herself

"So Cold in the D" is quite possibly the saddest, yet most hilarious video I have ever seen - it's digging up shit like this that makes B&B so great.

It's So Cold in the D is the Manos: The Hands of Fate of music videos.
