Oh and what i left out of the article (cause it was insaulting and initially not worth posting) is that alot of people found out earlier today because Justin Bieber made a tweet about B&BH returning

They better make fun of Bieber and the Black Eyed Peas right off the bat.

I doubt they're going to have the ability to make fun of as many videos as they did before. Record companies are super protective of that stuff now.

MTV could threaten the record companies that if they don't let B&BH make fun of the music videos they'll stop airing videos all together...wait...nevermind

I hope this revival prompts Mike Judge to release the rest of B&B on DVD.

Won't happen. And even if it did he'd continue his goofy Lucas-esque hackjob on episodes with moments he "doesn't like".

Sigh, I know I shouldn't get into this, but...

3-9AM every day on MTV is all music videos, and video premieres happen all the time in primetime. MTV Hits is all videos. MTV Jams is all videos. MTVu is mostly all videos. MTV2 has music videos. Palladia has a ton of music videos. MTV Tr3s has a lot of music videos. When labels want new videos out there, they still come to MTV. So there's a lot on the channels, you just don't know about it. :)

When do they air the Real World? is Daria still on? Can't you go back to playing rock videos? Why does TRL only play 30 seconds of a Britney Spears video? It barely gives me enough time to ummmm...finish.

i'd rather see them making fun of Jersey Sore and some of the other "reality" shows on MTV. But I wouldn't be upset if they go the viral video route. Imagine what they could do to this:

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XkMWdI2IKiw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It's funny to think how much has culturally changed since B&B were on. That alone should be interesting to see how they deal with it.

Earlier in this thread when it was said their would be 30 episodes. Does that mean its 15 half hours shows made up of music videos and two cartoons? Then will they be shown in HD or be the original 4X3 format to stick with the original episodes?

Beavis And Butt-Head Return To Watch 'Jersey Shore,' Viral Videos

Two of MTV's biggest icons are returning this summer, and according to executives at the network, they will pick up right where they left off. The launch date for the brand-new episodes of "Beavis and Butt-head" has not yet been made official, but longtime fans (as well as newcomers) can rest assured that the boys will be the same old bored, TV-obsessed, somewhat violent, anti-authoritarian unit they've always been.

"They'll have the same intelligence," MTV President Van Toffler told Rolling Stone in an exclusive interview. "They're the same boneheads sitting on the same couch, commenting on things through a really simple prism."

There will be a new element or two. While the boys used to obsessively watch old music videos, this time around, they'll poke fun at UFC matches, YouTube clips and even segments from "Jersey Shore."

One thing that will be the same is creator Mike Judge, who is returning to the show to helm it a second time. His inspiration for reviving two of his most iconic characters (Judge also created "King of the Hill" and directed cult-favorite films "Office Space" and "Idiocracy") centered on his ongoing obsession with pop culture. "In the years since Mike quit doing 'Beavis and Butt-head,' he realized that there was a lot to make fun of," head writer John Altschuler told Rolling Stone. "We just kept coming up with ideas that Mike thought would have made good 'Beavis and Butt-head' episodes."

"Beavis and Butt-head" last appeared on MTV in 1997, and their return was announced earlier this month at MTV's upfronts. Excited parties include Justin Bieber, who tweeted about the return of the show shortly after making an appearance at the event.

If I were doing it, I'd use 16x9 as the main format. For 4x3 source material (like some of the viral videos), I'd center the image and make the side borders the edges of the TV that they watch.

Really, so much time has passed that I don't think there's a need to make them 4x3 to fit in with the original episodes.

Any word yet about when Beavis and butthead are coming back? The Last few posts I have read said this summer, but still no word yet.

/\ I'm not sure, but Howard Kramer (One of the writers) mentioned on a recent podcast that they just wrapped the season.

Having them watch Jersey Shore and YouTube videos might be putting the satire on a bit too thick.
